If you told me that Pitt would go 11-1 and the Gator Bowl (with the loss being to WVU) instead of 5-7 with 13-9 preventing a WVU NC appearance, I wouldn't take the 11-1 Gator Bowl. Ruining WVU's chance at a NC means more to me than a truly great season that ends with a WVU loss and Gator Bowl.

Well, wvu went to...and won....the Fiesta Bowl, so your question doesn't really work.

It would appear that Wvu benefited more from winning that bowl game than Pitt did from winning the 13-9 game.

The Mountaineers are undefeated....and in a very weak Big 12 this year could run the table. Whether or not they do, we owe apologies to Holgy and ESPECIALLY Gibson because the 2 guys have proven to be very good coaches. Gibson has one of the best defenses in the country when most people on here didn't think he was qualified to be an equipment manager.

Soooo....we're giving out season props midway thru now?

Because we, Pitt fans, posted many times than Holgy was a terrible coach and Gibson wasn't even qualified to be an unpaid intern.

Turns out that Gibby is an excellent DC (when Pitt fans didnt think he was qualified to be a position coach) who has one of the better defenses in the country despite losing half his defense to the NFL or injury. And Holgy may be coaching his way to a better job.
