I remember being an undergrad circa 86 and lining up mid week at the William Pitt Union Ticket window early to get the student tickets for Saturday games when they were released. I think it was on Wednesdays? For some of the bigger Big East games the Union was bedlam, could barely walk through there. Then the trek up and the squeezing into Fitzgerald on game day/night…every bit as challenging if not much more so than going up Cardiac Hill for football games (there was often killer ice on those hills). Place got pretty dam loud. It seemed a pretty inefficient way to handle it at the time but that’s how it was.
