Looking back at some close losses without Horton. Conservatively speaking we would add 2 more OOC wins and 2 more ACC wins.

If so, record now would be 15-12 (8-8 ACC) vs the actual 11-16 (6-10 ACC).

Our problem is depth, we can not afford another injury, suspension or even foul trouble. I told my son this starting 5 is pretty good and playing well together. If you can steal 10 minutes for Jeffress, 8 for Collier and 5 from Ezeokudo that is all we need. Those other guys are going to have to play about 35-36 mpg.
They really shared the ball well today and found the open man. Horton can really get hot and change a game. Femi is just a adventure with the ball every time he has it. He can not continue to have 7 turnovers.
The play that got me going was the dunk by Collier, that was a beautiful set and executed perfectly.
I also can not believe the growth of Burton this year. He has become the leader of the team and can't wait to see what he can do next year if he can start hitting the 3 consistently. It is the only part of his game lacking.

Lack of depth is a killer

Weird, I read on this board that Horton wouldn't impact any games, he's not an ACC level player and only can make no pressure shots at the end of blowouts...

At a minimum the wins/losses would be flipped.

I think Capel is understanding how to win at Pitt…you have to have tough gritty players. I think when he took over he was reaching for the stars instead of tough and gritty. Is anyone more Pitt than Hughley? BEAST!!

Maybe Coach was walking by a picture of Dixon in the Pitt facility and it dawned on him that it doesn't matter how you win! Ugly is okay!

I think Horton is a very key player going forward, Ive maintained that theory all year since the season even began.

But can he sustain his Ashton Gibbs shooting level he has been on and keep it going to finish the season strong while playing close to 40 minutes per game??

Its pretty clear that when Horton is on he can be one of the top players in the ACC. Im interested in seeing how consistent he is finishing these last 4 games plus the ACC Tournament. These are home games now for Horton, not road games, so that should only help him more.

If he finishes the year like he has played the last 3 games, then expectations for next year are going to change quickly with a few quality additions.

Tonight was another one of those nights that Horton would have had to have scored what, 15, 18 points, maybe even more than that, just to be a net positive player?

No, no, not 15 or 18 points in the game. 15 or 18 points in the first half, just to have not been a net negative player in the first half. He was, once again, god awful.

Yeah, it is absolutely possible that if he had played we might have beaten Virginia or Notre Dame or a couple other teams that beat us. It is every bit as likely if he had played that we would have lost to Colgate or St. John's or BC or a couple others.

Horton wasn’t quick enough to stay with any of the Miami guards , but guess what no one else was either .

Pitt stands no chance against a team that shoots the ball well , is this a surprise to anyone ?
