Was looking through the roster & haven't heard much about these players & didn't know if anyone heard on how their develop is going?

Araujo-Lopes came in from a JUCO & had good #'s-Is he looking good for a slot position?

J. Davidson-Kid was very athletic in high school-Anyone know how he is looking at WR, has nice size

J. Weah-Will the kid catch a ball in a game or is he better for PITT's track & field team?

C. Baker-Was not really recruited, but PC & Crew liked him, any updates on him on the OL?

A. Reese-PA kid not sure how he is doing?

G. Roberts-Was always in mix for Center, his 5th year now, will he see field?

R. Lewis-With a ton of DB's in this class, will he play?

P. Motley-Got some PT last year with L. Pitts stinking it up against UNC-How does he look for the future

J. Williams-Safety out of NY-Special Teamer?

R. Green-Kid was a QB in high school, now a DE, any chance he plays with all the guys at DE?

S. Roy-Moved to DT, how is his weight & how does he look at his new position?

Any updates on their progress would be appreciated

Davidson was one of the players that put on like 30 pounds in the off-season last year.

Unless someone from the coaching staff is posting on this board that question is unanswerable.

I'd be more interested in knowing how Bertke and DiNucci are coming along. One of those two is likely to be our starter in 2017, and is one Peterman injury from being our starter in 2016. I would imagine one or both take some game snaps this year.

I wondered about Grimm all year long. I never really hear anything about him or him pushing for playing time. I understand he was a RFr but when you see him on the sideline he looks like a monster even compared to the OL/players but never hear his name mentioned when OL discussions pop up.

Does anyone know if he just doesn't have the desire or is it just his development is a little slower than expected, or is he progressing as expected and are my expectations to high at this point? You would think with his bloodline you would at least get a tidbit of info here and there or the once in a blue moon puff piece about him and tying him in with his old man/pittsburgh connections/legacy etc jargon.

Likely or not there is a strong hope that MacVittie will be ready in 2017.

Some could move on or they could stay, just curious to how they were developing & what role will they play next year if any on the team.

Didn't know if anyone heard anything about them & could give an update.

Was wondering about Grimm as well, keep in mind OL develop differently, it may or may not work out in the end, has to keep grinding!

Agree on OL that it takes longer than some skilled positions to be game ready. Hoping Grimm keeps with it and it pays off for him.

Grimm was a RS-freshman for the 2015 season. Next fall he will be a RS-Soph. It is not surprising we have heard nothing about his development. Most big OL need time to (1) get used to playing against guys just as big (didn't happen in HS) and (2) physically mature into their bodies. The latter is partly an aging-up process going from a teen's body into a 20-21 year-old man's body and partly a nutrition and weight room process of changing bulk (bad) weight into muscle and added strength weight. Assuming Grimm is on fairly normal development course for an OL and is as potentially talented as his HS star rating; then, barring injury, he should make the two deep for next season when he will be a RS-Soph. We should know after spring camp.

I think we are use to OL playing early in the careers, reason being we didn't have players that were here nor good enough to play.

Probably most Top Programs like to see there OL players have at least 2-3 years in the program & then no later than their RS JR be ready to contribute.

Always special cases with injuries or players leaving, but I would say after this year, if Grimm isn't ready by his RS JR to take a position then not looking good, especially since we lose 3 Startling OL for 2017

I think you're right-we finally have some quality starters and depth on the OL. This keeps good players off the field a bit longer. I'm sure Grimm factors into our O line picture significantly.
