- First, to the team. One of them, Sheldon Jeter, hates Stallings guts already. You don't think he has spread that to his teammates? Stallings will have trouble fielding a full roster next year, after the transfers and decommits.
- Second, to the boosters. They've been stepping up ever since Smiley was let go.... and renewed excitement around the FB program. I can't see how a SINGLE one of them is happy about this hire.
- Third, the fans. They already were staying away in droves. They're not going to come see a team made up of 5 or 6 scholarship players and a bunch of walk-ons next year. (which is what we'll see after the transfers).
- Fourth, the students. The "Oakland Zoo" will be empty. There will be ZERO enthusiasm around the program.
If Scott Barnes thinks there is anything positive about this, then Pitt screwed up royally when we hired him.
In 24 hours, Scott Barnes went from being a popular AD to public enemy #1 for Pitt fans.
And I have no faith in the media in this town to ask him the hard questions at the presser.
A dark, dark, dark Easter weekend for Pitt. Turn off the victory lights. Permanently.
