I guess this is uncool, but you click User Options, Message Board Options, and add code like this to Signature box:
img src="http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t259/WooFGal60/icons/i-love-you.gif"
Enclose the entire line in < > brackets. If I demonstrated the pointy brackets then the image, not the code, would have appeared here.
