How many coaches that have performed as poorly as Capel over 4 years are retained for a 5th? I can't think of very many. Those that were, it was pretty much just delaying the inevitable.

Danny Manning got a 5th & 6th at Wake, but he made the tourney in year 3.

Ewing at Georgetown, but he won the Big East tourney last year. Still employed, but the Hoyas are terrible.

The writer says that Capel "is running out of time"? I contend he has already run out of time. There aren't enough games to play this year for him to redeem himself, no matter what he does. He's as good as gone. It's just a matter of when.
