How the hell is the Louisville VB match on Friday…

if i remember correctly, ACCN gets first choice over ESPN.

Huh? ACCN and ESPN are the same company. Its not like ACC Network demanded to ESPN that they put the game on stream-only ACCNX. In reality, they are doing a soccer doubleheader and while its fun to have such a good volleyball team, the national ratings of Pitt/Lou regular season volleyball and a rando soccer game would be about the same.

Also, if you want to people to subscribe to/cable companies to carry the ACC network, you have to include a certain amount of programming that people actually want to see.

i'm no expert. but you aren't either. this isn't the first time this happened. one of the tv guys on here said that ACCN, at times, gets first choice. and obviously they want the #1 team in the country on their network.

Yea right. ACC Network is telling ESPN, who own them that they want Pitt volleyball on ACC Network Extra, which isnt even a real thing as its just the branding that ESPN uses for non-televised events. If ESPN wanted this game on TV, it would be on TV. Period. Dont feel bad though because not even Pitt/WVU basketball is televised.

No. There literally probably isnt 1 person subscribing to ESPN+ specifically to watch this event. They do soccer on Friday nights. Regular season volleyball ratings are very low. This isnt hard to comprehend. These are non-revenue sports we are talking about.
