"Hmmm. I don't live there so I don't hear them, but I wonder how they'll feel after we drop Pitt by 30 next season? Book it." -Howie'81

Still waiting Howie. I want some of that action. I'm sure plenty of other people here will take you up on that too.

Talk is cheap. Say $500? I get Pitt +30, right? If I win, you give $500 to the Children's Hospital Free Care Fund. If you win, I'll give to THON.

Let's "book it".

C'mon Howie! Put your money where your mouth is, fool!

We will be better next year. Every position is potentially upgraded except losing Dorian Johnson. JJS for Biz isnt any drop I dont think.

It's interesting that he'd say the above. He may not "hear" us, but he reads us, since he lurks here all of the time.

C'mon, Howie. You're being called out: put up, or STFU.

Or all you all talk and nothing else?

Maybe JJS is good but Biz is looking like he's gonna ba a 2nd round pick and prob no later than 3rd. I even saw someone say he's a potential 1st rounder. So there's likely to be a drop off.

And QB is a complete unknown so a lot will hinge on that.

Howwwwwwwieeeeee...where you at friend? Let's "book it". Get your simpleton cohorts over there to help you out. Hell, put out a can and collect nickels for all I care.

Let's make your bravado benefit a good cause. $500 to CHP Free Care Fund or THON.

Book it, sweetpea.

Bo Schneider was 20-35 for 189 at South Carolina last year. I am sure he can be as good as Peterman.

Howie still can't accept that his beloved Nittany Lions LOST to Pitt.

LOL!
Well, if you looked at your own board, you'll see that I've given credit to Pitt for their win this season. I even pushed back on some BWI people about it. So try again. But I do honestly think Pitt will have a hard time keeping it close next year. It's an opinion that I happen to hold strongly, which is why I said "Book it." Nothing wrong with that.

Well, let's "book it" then Howie. We can pin this thread and then following next year's game either you or I can post a shot of the receipt of our donation.

You do feel "that strongly" don't you? After all, you are going to enjoy watching your Lions...how did you put it?...oh, kick Pitt's ass all the way back to Oakland. Right?

Be a man. $500 on the line for charity. Pitt +30. Talk the talk, walk the walk.

So you can predict next years game now! How was your prediction for PITT vs PSU before this season's game?

I don't gamble. Never have. Haven't bought a single lottery ticket in my lifetime. If I want to give $500 to Thon, I'll simply do so, not try to get you to pay for it by Pitt losing. But I'm flattered that you are interested in posts I make on the BWI board.

So in other words, you're all talk.

Hey - maybe you can answer a question that's been bothering us: why haven't your influential alumni offered "Big Red" a job?

All he did was to report what he saw Sandusky doing....

Unless your alumni approve of what Sandusky did, doesn't "Big Red" deserve a nice, well-paying job offer from one of your many successful alumni?

I didn't make a prediction on this year's game. If you can find some of my old posts, you can verify that. I figured it could go either way. And it turned out to be a 3 pt. game.

Typical.

Don't be flattered. I'm easily entertained by morons. That's why I watch Adam Sandler movies. Not because they are tremendous works of art. But because they make me laugh.

Kinda of the way your big talk does.

How about we do this? If Pitt gets spanked convincingly in University Park next season, you come here and start a post with the title that "Howie'81 of Penn State called it correctly." And if it's a close game or Penn State loses, I'll come here and start a post admitting I'm the moron you think I am. That's a good gentlemen's kind of bet, don't you think?

Howie- - Of course it can go either way! That is like saying whoever scores more points will likely win! Did you say anything like a close game, around 3 points, etc? I can't just give it to you without some evidence.

Usually I make some sort of prediction on who I think will win a game, unless I really don't have a feel for it. In that case I simply don't make a prediction. That's how I handled the PSU / Pitt game this year.

I don't care about your reputation, I want your money. I don't want to bankrupt you or take food off of anyone's table. How about anywhere between $100-$500?

I'll take Pitt +30.

Come on, Howie, that is a sucker's bet! You have a team full of five star players and you just beat Ohio State. You are definitely going to beat Pitt 55-6. This year was a fluke. Your Lions can do it! They are back, baby! The healing has officially begun!

Tell you what, since I'll be in State College next year for the game, should Penn State "spank" Pitt convincingly I will not only start a thread as you request, I will also take a pic of me kissing that dumbassed Lion statue that you have up there.

But to be honest, I really don't need you to come back to admit you're a moron should Pitt win or should the game be a close one. You have already proved as much unequivocally with your postings.

Consider your terms stipulated.

This year's Pitt win was NOT in any way a fluke. Don't put words in my mouth. Never said it and never would.

LOL - Hey my wife thinks I'm a moron too sometimes. I can accept that. Just make sure you pucker up if you have to kiss that statue.

I guess Pitt shouldn't show up. PSU fans forgot they still have James from State College on the sidelines they forgot it's James Franklin not Jim Harbaugh.

You mean the same guy that was just named the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week in college football? That James Franklin?

I would say your wife is bright...but she married you. ;)

Fear not, my lips will remain unsullied by carved limestone. I'm quite certain.

It always interesting how one game can bring out some pretty crazy thoughts. It would be like when Pitt upset #2 WVU...if Pitt fans turned around and started going "going to totally dominate Alabama next year".

In reality, PSU lost by 39 to Michigan just a few weeks ago. Lost to a Pitt team in year two of a rebuild without multiple starters out and no pass game at that point. Struggled with Temple. Struggled with Minnesota. Yet if you read BWI, you would think Alabama was shaking in their boots at Penn State.

Reality is, Penn State had an upset. Nothing more or less. Similar to Pitt beating WVU a few years ago (though that WVU team was probably better than this years OSU given WVU went on to whack #3 Oklahoma by 28 in the Fiest Bowl). These things happen.

The PSU (well, more just BWI) fan base is just a little off center from reality.

Give Howie some props boys for coming on here and defending his position.. If he thinks PSU will win by 30 thats his right... It does reflect the desperate nature of PSU fans however.. They want so bad to be on top and fail to realize they are far far from it. Good win against OSU for sure but the team and staff have a long way to go.. I see next years game as a pick em with PSU likely favored by 5 or so (home) depending on how the seasons play out.. Both Defensives will be much better, Offenses will be good.. The key is that PSU oline which is still below average..How will a new QB at pitt perform at Happy Valley? I think better than McSorley did this year, simply due to an O coordinator who will simplify things behind a good OLine and dynamic RB's.. Either way give howie a break for now and feel free to give him a hard time after next years game..

It's just so typical of that crowd: they finally get a respectable win over an over-confident Ohio State team who "packed it in" early, and they start acting as though they invented football.

Give him a break? I still want his opinion re: why none of those rich, influential alumni who pump thousands of dollars into Nit football haven't offered Mike "Big Red" McQueary a nice, high-paying job.
