They acted like normal humans yesterday at the game but that's not where they get it now, I have had many tell me since the game ended, how much they enjoyed having all that passion back in the game. They also have more on record than not, saying, it is a rivalry, especially after yesterday and want the game played!

Now, over on the KKK Cultists board, the fringe believe we are CCAC/Temple/Rutgers, but that's cause they have the little man syndrome, and are worried about recruits, many of them live their lives through PSU recruiting, sad but true. In reality most of them know we are rivals and get it. I also think this game with WVU needs played each year.

Think of it this way....if it were an NFL game today being played there...with a few exceptions....it could be the same 70k people that could potentially be there rooting for one team.

I think the game will always be like that when played here, because many of the Nitters were there with friends and family from "divided" households and friends.

Now up there, you will have more of their students, as well as the Anti-everything-Pittsburgh crew. So some of them are Flyer fans, etc where there is an extra layer of hate

None of this is meant to be a blanket statement. Just what you would see "more of" and perhaps enough of to change the "dynamics" of the crowd interaction

At least those that were too young to understand the rivalry, now even state they get it now, and like this game a lot and want it each year. It's good for the state , it's people and it could again be a top game each year.

Fans on both sides were loud and engaged not to mention well-behaved. Only serves to isolates the cult faction at PSU even more. They aren't all that way, thank goodness

Not sure about every year, but if the ACC stays at 8 conference games then two cupcakes, a rivalry game, and a national P5 opponent would work. Maybe 2-2 for PSU/PITT for four years, followed by WVU/PITT for 2-2 for four years, and repeat. I would be ok with that. Just dont want to lose that national team that varies on the OOC slate.

I would rather play WVU every year the only unfortunate part of that is that have would only help WVU in recruiting and doesn't do much for Pitt. Since the move to the B12 you never hear anything about WVU around Pittsburgh.

You guys should play PSU and WVU every year.

Don't start that crap. You play WVU to beat them. The Brawl needs to be played.

In basketball too.

Yeah, I never even think about WVU or who they played or their record. Who did they play yesterday? Is WVU even any good?

WVU is probably is a 6.5 and us a 7, on 1 to 10 scale. I promise those who don't know, when we played PSU, WVU, CUSE, RUTGERS, BC, the wins were more enjoyable. I could give two rats ass's about Wake, Duke, NC state, Virginia football, and many others that we play now.

It would be a great game this year.

Big difference between Allegheny County nits as most have said are panther family members and neighbors, contrasted with the central pa deliverance nits that give West Virginia hillbillies a run for their money

This sounds more like negitive recruiting toward wvu

I agree that both fanbases were really great yesterday. I enjoyed the friendly banter and discussing the game with the Nits sitting around me. It goes to show that the message board community and the actual fan bases are not the same.

PittPanther44 - I actually disagree with you. I drove from Philly to go to the game along with some of my Penn State friends. I can also tell you that there were a lot of Pitt and PSU vehicles on the turnpike today. I will be in State College next year and I expect the atmosphere to be similarly enjoyable.

Agreed, those traveling to State College next year won't get quite the same reception as the Nits did here.
