Luke is a junior and placed 3rd at 182 at Powerade. Mack is only in 9th grade but placed 7th at 160.
Jack Blumer from Kiski beat Mac Stout 10-5 to knock him out of the quarterfinals. It was a good match though. It got a little chippy but the freshman didn’t back down.
Carter Starocci from Erie Cathedral Prep, beat Luke 7-3 in the semi's. Carter then beat Gerrit Nijenhuis 5-2 in the finals. Starocci looked very strong throughout the tournament but the match was more competitive than the 7-3 score suggests. Carter won Powerade as well as PIAA last year and was 46-0. He is ranked the #2 182 Lbs. recruit in the country and has committed to PSU.
Brian Stout was a four time All-American at Clarion and was actually seeded 2nd his junior year (I think).
If you think they look similarly, watch Brian while his kids are wrestling - same stance LOL. Hard to break habits after all that training.

Thanks that’s great information. I understand the Starocci - Niljenius match was chippy as well. Is Niljenius a senior? Has he committed anywhere?
