Pitt barely beat bad Syracuse & bad Georgia Tech on last second field goals. Got smoked by Navy. Barely beat Youngstown State. Barely beat a bad QB in a rainstorm at VT. Beat a decent Duke team who lost their QB. Lost to a collapsing Miami team.

How do you know that isn't an organizational decision to play conservatively with the lead or with the game tied. Certainly seems to be a pattern here the last 3 games.

Why are the Pitt defensive linemen so dead tired at the ends of games? we know the defensive backs are incapable of defending against the pass, but why can't we get some semblance of a pass rush with the game on the line? Pitt controlled the time of possession so that couldn't be the reason, do we just not have any depth on the dline?

Yes. But at some point you have to learn how to win close games. It alludes him. And I see nothing in his recruiting that is going to change any of it. 2 recruiting classes and the guy has produced 1 starter on this pathetic defense. If that isn't a condemnation of the guy - I don't know what is?? He obviously needed immediate help at DB and he has recruited ONE player capable of starting??

Well, the thing is he's never been a Head Coach. He's learning on the job. I would never ridiculously jump the gun because his first real recruiting he closed pretty good, but there are definitely some concerns.
I think Canada has done tremendous work with the offense. I don't know who makes a decision to conservative in the 4th Qtr., but I probably have to say that a single first down in 2 drives wins the game.
That's a cop out. If we're good enough to lead by 13 in the 4th quarter we were good enough to win the game.

Recruiting and talent is the reason you dominate a game and lose in the last seconds because the players never listen to the coaches. Of course they want to run against a 8 man front when the coach says play fake and pas.

I can see the future now. This clown will limp thru 6-6/7-5 seasons the next 2 years then bolt for the HC at MSU where his defense will work great against the B10 programs and him and Chryst will both be highly successful coaches.

So let's say that unc has 3 receivers on the field, a TE, and a single set back. That is 5 guys to cover. Pitt doubled two receivers, that is 4 guys, then uses 3 other guys to cover up the other guys.
One of two things happens...Pitt gets gashed on the run, or their qb sits in the pocket all day with the 4 man rush. You could never blitz.
You are wrong. All our Offense had to do is make a couple of first downs when we had a 13 point lead and his play calling was horrible. I do agree we have the worst secondary in the country but refuse to give Canada a pass. Peterman is also at fault for not being able to complete 4 five yard passes on 4 consecutive series in the fourth quarter.
I highly doubt he leaves due to message board posts from fans. He leaves because he knows running this defense against the Iowa's, Nebraska's, Wisconsin's has a higher probability of success than against the UNC's, Clemson's, FSU's and Duke's of the ACC.
But he will see Clemson.......fsu....
..UNC because he is the next head coach at notre dame......
