I can't believe Dixon is still coaching this team...

As @thirteenNINE (I believe) suggested earlier might be the case, these new freedom of movement rules appear to suit Dixon very well.

It's a very good offensive system he runs. Always has been. Now that system is able to move relatively unobstructed and the great shots are appearing earlier and earlier in the shot clock. Instead of needing to make the extra pass to bust a guy open, the sets themselves are doing the job.

Yep that was me although I can't take too much credit for this since I didn't have any facts to go on and was really just spitballing based on a broad reading of past results. You also have to consider that the shorter shot clock has really helped our defense out, since we don't force many turnovers having to defend a little bit less is a good thing when you aren't a very good defensive team.

All in all I have been pretty happy with the rule tweaks so far this season both as a Pitt fan and as a basketball fan. The games have been more aesthetically pleasing so far this year, let's see what happens in conference play though.

he's clearly become stale here and needs to go...

Let's discuss this 1st week in March, O'K? I know all the Dixon supporters are feeling great after that rousing win against Davidson ( I'm happy to see them win too but , again, it was Davidson ) but let's see how the season plays out and then let's review this discussion in March.

I can't wait to judge an entire season over one-game samples. Those threads are the best threads with the most educated and informed posters populating them.

Nice...this post covers a couple ignorant views our fans have...that everything is judged by one game, and that teams outside the power 5 all stink.

Considering the source I'm not surprised.

Dear hate monger. These people. unlike you are mostly PITT fans. You are too stupid to see that all the ignorant criticisms people like you levied against Dixon's coaching are BS. you are just a jerk with nothing to do but to bash anything good about Pitt. Enjoy your holiday. May you be given the gift of not hating so much.
