A lot of discussion on KS if he is the right coach or not. I do not think he is for the following reasons:

1) His first year team gave up on him. He didn't lead them to buy into his system. It was evident from the huge decline that year.
2) The total house was cleaned. No one especially a former player's son wanted to stay. Luther stayed but let's face it...he is not Sam Young or Levance fields... that level of player.
3) He wants to run and gun...just like S.Pedo wanted our FB Of to do with TG one and done. Problem is the burgh only cares about wins...no matter how they are achieved!
4) Look at UVA...it's the Pitt model of hoops. D first and team scoring.

I may be wrong with this analysis (I am not BB junkie) but this is the first year in 20 years when I did not attend or even plan to watch a game...I watched during the Chad Vargas and Seabooks years for Christ sake..I never gave up until now!!

You can add the inability to recruit at the level required. In pre-season #1 he failed to recruit an immediate help ACC-level Point Guard to fill the major hole in the returning team. For season two he failed to land any 4-star type/top half of ACC level recruits. This happened despite KS being touted as a great recruiter who would be able to recruit better at Pitt than he did at Vandy. Instead his recruiting at Pitt has been below the level it was at Vandy.

Yeah, I started following this program back when Clyde Vaughn was owning the boards and draining baseline 20 footers. Geeked it out during the duldrums from the late 80s through Williard, the Omo Moses type years.

And, yeah, I just have not been able to watch more than 2 or 3 games live this year, and 1 or 2 on DVR before bed ...

Just knew how it was going to go.

Although all your points are correct, the premise of your post is wrong. Respectfully, I will correct you, no credible follower, fan, media, etc., believes KS is the right coach and that point is not in the debate at all, the question is how to get out from under the mess that his hiring has created in the best possible way for all concerned.

You are not alone. I used to watch every game on TV or over the net and got to a few live when my kid was at Pitt and I came up from DC as well as a few Pitt vs Georgetown games down here. This year I watched one ESPN3 game--that is it! What a drop from the 3-OT win vs WVU my kid got me in to the Pete to watch several years back. So sad!

Regardless of them trying to figure out how to get out from under this mess financially, which is daunting, there won't be any fans at the games if he stays. That is a fact. That will do massive damage to this program that will have much higher realized costs than paying some buyout now.
