Do you think that the people setting the line and the people betting on the game, or at least most of those people, didn't know that was the case?
College sports really need to begin with making declaring injuries and statuses mandatory. It's a pro sport now and there's too much gambling money involved to not treat these things the same way.

I'm sure those very savvy knew. The article I read this morning from a Duke affiliated website had them both 50/50. I didn't try to keep up on any rumors as it got closer to game time.
I agree with that, but no one was hiding either of the Duke guys injury. For example, from Thursday:

Jeremy Roach, who is recovering from a knee injury, did some on-court work at Duke’s practice on Wednesday, Blue Devils coach Jon Scheyer said. “Jeremy was able to do a little bit on the court for the first time,” Scheyer said Wednesday night during his radio show. “Mark (Mitchell) still hasn’t been able to.” Mitchell, a 6-9 sophomore forward, has a sprained knee. He was not in uniform last Saturday when the Blue Devils topped Georgia Tech, 84-79, at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Roach suffered a different type of knee injury during the game, causing him to miss all but 58 seconds of the game’s final 8:21.
Mitchell was never going to play and Roach was 50/50. When I saw the line start at 14.5 and go down to 11.5 before it ended at 12.5, I figured neither were playing.
All this BS about Duke being without 2 players is laughable. They have a roster full of All-Americans etc. Loved that we beat them at their place in front of those spoiled brats!!! Hinson couldn't take their arrogance and took a stand. Good 4 him!!!! H2P
It is arguably the #1 sport wagered on by sharps and wise guys. Limits are way lower than some other sports, but the extensive menu leaves a lot of room for bad numbers and other advantages for the sharper players.
Unlike the NFL where everyone including the public knows pretty much everything there is to know college basketball has a lot of opportunities and edges, some in limited markers. Books basically put up soft numbers on many of these games and let the sharps hit them at smaller limits early and base their closing numbers off of their action.

Of course not, but Pierre's post I responded to acted as if Duke has players their equal to start in their place. I was simply pointing out that isn't the case.

That’s my point… no one cares… Dior isn’t hurt or available. He was kicked out of school for hitting a woman. Certainly no sympathy from any sane person for him not being available
