But I have it on good authority from a TCU source that he is gone.

I know I'm a jerk sometimes, but I don't make up rumors.

Hope it isn't true. I have no faith we will hire a good coach. Instead I see us as a B.C. ACC bottom dweller within a year or two.
I thought that way before I saw Gallagher and Barnes work with Narduzzi. I am a big Dixon fan but he lost me the past 2 seasons.

I guess this is the year we look for off season hoops coaching replacement and not football.

Someone said it already but I'm worried about next coach. We aren't exactly a destination, blue blood program. We are t getting a big name. Very easily could bring in a bust and be an ACC bottom dweller very easily.

Narduzzi was an ASSISTANT, not an established coach. He still has had one decent year, where like all the Jamie badgers say, he beat up the cupcakes.

Look we are in the ACC - there are only 14 of these positions available. We should have plenty of interest in this position and would likely be willing to pay at the top 25 salary level in college BBall. We may not steal Roy Williams but I'm sure AD Barnes will not jeapordize the revenue side of Pitt hoops. Remember - $1,500 per seat annual donation per Club level seat. That's 3X the annual donation for a football club seat. This is no laughing revenue number and these are the serious donors of Pitt sports.

Yes narduzzi was an assistant but he was one of the most covered assistants out there. They also gave him resources to be successful. Now whether that happens or not is up to Pat. If Pedersen were still here I would never want a good coach to leave in hopes of hiring a great coach. And I think Dixon is better than good.

All I am saying is that if he leaves, get ready for a big time roll of the dice.

Wow ... Hey, I like Narduzzi but he has yet to prove he is some messiah.... Quite honestly if he proves to perform as Jamie has for a decade we will consider that a success! Fans are clueless!

Just like the ex-CEO of Chesapeake was OK? He was the teflon man until he ran his SUV into a bridge abutment. These guys are hurting... *Big Time*.

They may be hurting but that guy was up to all kinds of illegal activity and likely would have been facing years in prison. Possibly the rest of his days.

Aubrey McClendand was under indictment and probably broke TBP is smart enough not to have is entire fortune in oil and gas. Now is he as rich as he was a year ago no but don't worry about him he'll be fine.

That was more related to the federal indictment.
This is why he ran his SUV into a bridge support ( its called the last ride). Lots of jail time coming and he was to cute to go to prison. He'd be making some guy a nice wife!

Mar 01, 2016 · A federal grand jury has indicted Aubrey McClendon on charges of conspiring to rig bids for oil and natural gas leases in northwest

You're about as off-target as you can be. For one thing... TBP is an Oklahoma State alum and donor. Pick up a WSJ some time and you can read how the oil/gas industry is on the precipice of a major credit default. Chesapeake is facing a $1 billion dollar collateral call. They struggled last week selling assets to avoid a default on a $500 million dollar bond payment. Oh but yeah... these guys are doing great and are so smart what possibly go wrong!

Agree. I don't expect any new coach, if Pitt gets one, to be successful in the near term. Attendance will spike for part of one season. But wait until we're 10-10 and in the bottom third of the ACC next year with a new coach, if it happens. The same people clamoring for Dixon to leave will be jumping off the bandwagon once again.

But the haters will keep on hating.

Do you think that Jamie will leave? My preference is for him to stay, but I am not steadfast to that opinion.

I'm well aware of the financial issues involved with the oil and gas business. I'm just not going to worry about a man 84 years old with a reported net worth of 1.4 billion dollars. Let's say he loses 90% of his wealth that would leave with only $140,000,000.00 Plus he's not that stupid to have all his money in one sector. He's not a major shareholder in Chk by the way ,not even listed as a shareholder. Do you worry about Warren Buffet and Bill Gates also. ? 5 mil 10 mil chump change to these guys.ill give that a lot of guys are sweating out the price of crude ,but he's not one of them.
