Cole Matthews and Luke Kemmerer are going to be wrestling at the Scuffle on their own. Ony two Panthers I saw listed.
Only allowed some many competition days in season so you have to make some decisions with the schedule.
Kemmerer and Mathews ARE at the scuffle wrestling un-attached.
Earlier, they held Kemmerer back a little bit because of a knee injury
Mathews won his first match 10-0 over Brock Herring from Lehigh. He looked terrible in his second match against a kid from Ohio U. He was losing 6-1 and getting twisted like a pretzel when he pulled out some kind of junior high reversal and horsed him over and pinned him with 9 seconds left. He looked like he had too much New Years. Just standing around and looking - no pressure applied to his opponent at all.
Kemmerer got pinned after being dominated 13-1 by one of the Finesilvers from Duke. He got a forfeit from a guy from N Colorado and then won 6-3 over Matzke from Edinboro.

No, not negative at all. I'm a fan. Cole is going to be (is right now) very good and he is just getting started. I keep forgetting sarcasm/tongue in cheek doesn't translate well in text.
I always thought Coles pace was slow and methodical and that he will really take the jump to the next level when he learns to push his pace and put more pressure on his opponents. Against the kid from Ohio U, he just appeared to be exceptionally tired and not his normal self. I actually thought he looked better against Lee than the Ohio U kid.
Anybody know why they had to pay their own way?? That's a bit concerning.
Where's that Bagman we all hear about for every other school but Pitt. Koo Koo Kee ChooIs there any other funding mechanism to help pay for these kids to compete unattached? Can funding go through the RTC or some other club? It seems wrong to make these kids pay their own way to compete, especially while they compete against other kids who are supported by their team at the same event.
He has been back. Placed at NCAA’s last year. Has come a long way back.On another topic, I saw that Marstellar was there and wrestling for Lock Haven. He made it to the finals, where he lost by a point to the PSU wrestler. Glad to see that he is back in the sport.
Unfortunately appears no video feed of OK match Sunday. I need my grappling fix. Have to admit that’s the only thing I watch on the Big Ten Network
oAgreed, the B10 network is the only real promotion for the sport. Hopefully the ACC network will expand coverage of a great sport.
