Was able to watch both. We won, but not with the intensity we've
gotten accustomed to from this group. The energy was there, but I felt
we also lost a little of the focus we've shown in our previous games. I actually
feel that is to be expected, especially with such a young and inexperienced
group of players. This will give Capel plenty to use as a learning experience.
I'm sure he's going to drum into their heads that we're young and can't rest
on our laurels of the past few wins..
With all that said, I'm really happy with what we're doing. Hell, we still won
despite not at out best. I also think that Capel has gotten into Brown's head
and has made him a believer. He's trying and is moving more, but today's
output was really bad, no points and one rebound. THAT is unacceptable,
but what can be done about it...he is what he is. Chuka on the other hand got
6 points and 7 rebounds. He also played 29 minutes as opposed to Brown's
10 minutes. We were outrebounded again , and only got one offensive by
our two big guys. Chuka does give us what he's capable of, while Brown is
a total enigna.
We're going to have games like this going forward. Let's see what happens
with the three upcoming games...STLouis, Iowa, and WVU.
