There are some credible people who I do think have some nuggets from time to time. Hell even I knew a few things about some suspended players. But as it relates to this search - I haven’t read much on here that I haven’t taken with a grain from a grain of salt.
1A was confirmed to be Sean Miller. IMO that was never happening. When you start having people say things are "fluid" and every two minutes it's changing, then they don't know crap.
Agree. There are definitely people that know some stuff. And typically when it's players or recruiting and that type of stuff, you definitely do.
But I've learned when it comes to thing like realignment, coaching searches, tv deals, etc, where the principles are tight lipped, typically no one knows the story.

It's been extremely tight lipped. I've only gotten a few snipets here and there over the years, but I've gotten very little during this search.
This is exactly right and so many of the so called "insiders" fall back on this line so they can continue to throw crap off the wall without being able to be proven wrong.
Sure. And some of them are well-intentioned and the information is appreciated. But it's pretty much like having a number or 2 to a lengthy vault combination. Just having some pieces won't crack it open.

Apologies if you took my post as an attack. Wasn't meant that way. In fact, it was the opposite. I was saying you were normally on point with your info and you said that last night.
Stands to reason. Aside from Hurley, HL is really keeping this zipped up. Really that's how it should be. Even though it certainly makes for some anxiety for the more curious folks.
And I'm not bashing Matt, I believe he gives a lot of good info and probably had some reliable sources saying some things, but he also fully admitted this search has been so tight lipped that it's hard to decipher things.
When he said 1A was close one night and the next morning said things changed big time, I stopped following that drama. And pretty much anyone else that has stated anything I didn't even give a listen too. Pitt will announce when they have a coach.
I learned all of this during the conference realignment crap a few years ago. Everyone was an insider and constantly said things were changing. Another sure sign that shows off that people don't know crap is when they start picking apart sentences for hidden meanings.
A handful of people, guys like Roethstein and Pete Thamel are legit. David Teel for ACC matters (and UVA/VT) is another great source. When they say something, you know it's legit.
You are typically one of the better ones and when something is said by you I'll take a listen.
I just think in this search, things are pretty damn tight. Unless you are Lyke, the candidate, or the candidates agent, I don't think many others know on this one.
They may have well thought it was a done deal. Heck, we still don't know if it is or is not.
I wish the so called insiders would follow this advice:
If you KNOW something say something.
If you Don't KNOW Anything don't say anything.
KNOW someone was contacted report it.
KNOW someone interviewed report it.
KNOW someone reported to be a candidate is not a candidate report it.
Otherwise spare us your musings.
