I thought

We would have the superior guards most games.

What happened with that?
Well Dunn is completely ineffective since coming back. Teams press Lowe and he starts slow which leaves Ish to take tough shots.
Defensively they keep helping and leaving guys open.

Ish seems like he’s playing well but Lowe and Dunn continue to be awful. Those runners Lowe made were really bad shots

This far into the season teams have had time to scout and film study opponents. They have learned how to play against Pitt. Pitt has not been able to counter.

Why the hell not?

Do we make any adjustments to our style of play because of individual opponents?

This team moves way too slow on offense. Watching how fast and unselfishly Clemson moves on offense should be a learning experience for Pitt. That's a well-coached team.

Today we got rebounds and that's improved. But in most cases, the rebounds didn't lead to transition. We stand around way often watching Lowe dribble then drive.

I don't think our guards can handle physical play and being guarded hard. Bigger stronger players can shut them down. This is why we need to move the ball and stop being selfish. They are our best players and we need them to be better. That means start sharing the ball. The failure is on Capel, he has got to show us something more.

I'm tired of watching Lowe, to be honest. He falls 20 times/game. No vocal leadership... conserved effort on defense... and he doesn't have that killer edge on offense. For instance, when a freaking 4 is guarding him he should at least get a good shot off 10 times out of 10. It happened a few times today and he didn't even take the shot.

And he is an absolute featherweight compared to some of the opposition. They bully him.

Agree with this to a point. That said, there is so much pressure on him to deliver for this team and he feels it. Again, Capel, show me you can do something x's and o's wise to take the ball out of Jaland's hand some of the time. I don't put the failures of this team square on his back. We need others to step up, and that's on Capel to get it started.

Yeah it seems like Ish is playing well, but he's not. He over dribbles like Lowe, take numerous bad shots, and turns the ball over too much. It looks like he is playing well, because he takes a lot of shots and make a few 3 pointers.

But unlike the early season, when he drives to the basket, the double comes and he forces up unmakeable shots. And to make matters worst, neither he nor Lowe is getting the benefit of the doubt from the refs of calling fouls when they do. In the non conference games they were consistenly getting those calls. Capel has not made the adjustment he team needs him to make in they way

That is not the Pittsburgh way. Narduzzi stays with his quarters defense no matter what the other team does. Tomlin plays his single high safety cover three no matter what the other team does. Sullivan tells his defenseman to aggressively pinch no matter what the other team does.

It seems Capel has a lot of mentors in this area.

In absolute agreement.
