Visiting this weekend per Evan Daniels tweet a few minutes ago. What’s the skinny on him?
I saw video of the real one. He's a freaking monster of a human being. He's pretty ridiculous in size.Well. There is a 6-0 HS point guard and a 6-10 245 Manhattan College senior. So, maybe there are 3 of them?
According to Jake Weingarten, he is visiting this weekend and he is a 7 footer with offers from DePaul and USF. He has a nice Top 15 on Twitter, but I suspect he didn’t get offers from a number of them.
And he seems to catch the ball !I know its a highlight video but there are a few things you can pick up on from such videos. Seems to be more athletic and a quicker leaper (gets off the floor faster) than Brown. FWIW, Peace had the worst highlight video I ever saw.

He is all arms and legs, a pretty big project. But, one thing you can see is he hustles his butt off getting up and down the court, and the announcers keep referencing that he is the hardest working kid on the team.
Brown came in with a low energy reputation, and his focus and intensity clearly ebb (far too often) and flow.
Yeah, I know.Keep in mind he's averaging 11 points, 11 rebounds and 3.5 blocks playing against mostly college players on the prep circuit.
I only saw one play for Diallo, a tip in.
The Kuany Kuany kid looks nice. I never heard of him but from what I saw in this video, it looked to me like he's a Top 100 guy. Looks better than Diallo. Then I go on 247 and see Jamie just offered him last month.

I think it’s 7’8.5 but still crazyHe runs the floor pretty well, too. The announcer said he had an 8 foot wingspan?! Holy crap, if true!

Yeah, that was my thought, too.It seems like Leonard Hamilton manages to bring in a player just like him every year. FSU offered him. I am all for it, but we need to bring in Juco/Grad Transfer help up front as well.

Probably along those lines, though if he comes to Pitt, hopefully not that big of a project.Similar player to Cuse's current center, perhaps?
Yep - help control the boards on the defensive end, and be able to finish on offensive rebounds, and feeds where he has a clear lane the basket, like pick and rolls.This. Who doesn’t love a 7 footer with potential but we need someone who can help immediately. Just someone solid who gives consistent effort and who can be a ball hawk.
We do not have anybody that is playing well up front consistently. We have a lot of minutes available, and should be bringing in as much talent as possible. There is only 1 Big on the entire roster that is ACC level when he hustles.I wonder too, for either class balance purposes and pecking order, if the staff would rather pursue more heavily: Sy or Diallo? Not saying Pitt can pick who they want, but there's some factors in play.

I think that’s what they’ll settle for , but I’m sure they’d secretly wish that somebody would come in that put Brown on the bench for most of the game .I still feel they will try to upgrade with someone who can share minutes with Brown - have a tandem with both playing roughly half the game.
SO - I think someone like Sy would likely be balanced out with Kene most likely moving on.
OR George, but his likely moving on would possibly be the spot for Diallo.

If I was JC I’m proceeding as if next yr is still about the continual improvement of the roster and player development . I doubt that the class they’ll be bringing in will turn this team into a legitimate tournament team next season . One could always hope for that , but I believe 2020 is the yr and that’s the recruiting class that will define the direction of the program . JC and staff will have been on their recruiting targets for two yrs and he won’t just be selling PT on a bottom dweller . Improvement next yr with 6-8 ACC wins 2020 look out ! He needs 3 or 4 ships for the 2020 class .You take both if you can get them. You worry about making sure you have enough ships later.
He's definitely a project but he has enormous hands and catches the ball well, gets up and down the court, can finish above the rim, and has at least ok footwork. 7' players don't grow on trees so if you can find one that can do the bare minimum, like this guy appears to, you have to take a flyer on him and try to coach him up/get him in the weight room.
Unfortunately for us, we aren't Duke or Kentucky that can continually restock with 7' NBA-ready players. That said, given our current options at the 5, I do think Diallo could contribute next year.

Louisville had a lot of those guys tooYeah, that was my thought, too.
Hamilton really hordes the big men, and has done well with kids like this.
Seems a lot quicker and more fluid than the Cuse kidProbably along those lines, though if he comes to Pitt, hopefully not that big of a project.
I would not pass on Couliblay for Diallo. I would like Couliblay, Diallo and an experienced big better than Sy. I remember Sy. I know he is now older and more experienced, but my impression was questioning if he was adequateI wonder too, for either class balance purposes and pecking order, if the staff would rather pursue more heavily: Sy or Diallo? I think the dad in Duck Dynasty was Terry Bradshaw's back up at LA tech.. I think..I think it was Terry Bradshaw who used to tell the story of trying out for his freshman basketball team in high school. The coach lined everyone up by height, kept the 12 tallest kids and told everyone else to go home.
You can't teach 7'. Sign him up if he can walk and chew gum at the same time. Plenty of time to develop.
Man, which Cuse kid are you guys talking about. Certainly not Chukwu (or whatever the last name spelling is). There must be a younger tall Cuse kid you're talking about that I'm not specifically remembering.Seems a lot quicker and more fluid than the Cuse kid
