If Max Browne is half as good as Sam Darnold

Just messin with ya. I like DiNucci and hope he gets a shot to start if he proves it in camp. He works out and is going through a lotnof extra training. My neice sees him when she works out with Dinkins.

I can see how Browne got beat out for the starting job. This Darnold kid is amazing.

I like how he let his play do the talking. Not of the chest thumping and celebratory crap you saw from his counterpart. Calm, cool, collected and deadly when it counted.
He had that confident I cant wait to get back in the game look even after an interception!
Pacing the sidelines with that "killer" stare!
Yep he's a player!

I think DaNooch is transfer city, baby!!!
No intel, just a hunch...

I hope not but I guess it could be a possibility with MacVittie and Browne in the mix next year and Pickett coming on board, too. We'd be awfully thin again in 2018 if he were to leave.

How would we be thin,we will have 2 freshman this year and atleast one maybe 2 in class of 2018,Pitt won't be thin

Pitt got a heck of a Sr. Transfer QB.
Until I see the Pitt New OC???? This will mean another Magic Hat Trick for the Third Time.

Coach Pat Chaney that brought Peterman to Pitt & Pitt wanted to keep Chaney!

Coach Pat then brought in OC Canada and he made Pitt Best Offense in History with No Defense to help him and beating Two Conference Top 5 Teams?

A New OC often means more changes in terminology, play calling, players adjusting, and OC Canada was perfect at it.

Until I see the new OC selection it is tough to see what QB will come to the forefront selected by the New OC with Coach Pat?

I have much confidence in Coach Pat but to match how much better Pitt Offense can be in 2017 compared to 2016 will be a tough call overall and very dependent on the OC as much as any QB Player.

Again, this is why I have so much confidence in Coach Pat and over Franklin, Holgrosen, Kelly, Strong. As well as special relationships with the Steeler's!

Coach Pat knows his Football Coaching and many relationships with Friends like Jim Tressel, Jim Chaney, Mark Dantonio, Matt Canada and dating back to his days with his Dad in Youngstown as a Lad, Learner, and loving coaching.

I can wait and trust in Narduzzi's selection, notice Coach Pat's is allowing many to settle once again without jumping for any particular OC until NFL and CFB seasons are over. This is smart and wise move just like last year!

I think he will be a good one myself , hope we get a top notch OC, even if it cost a little , worth so much to get this hire right , not worry about money here

I am not saying otherwise but Pitt needs a New OC and then we will see? Sam Arnold and Trace McSorley played terrific games and set records last night and in the seasons, but so did their Teamates and Wideouts?

Peterman proved UTenn wrong under the Right Coaches!

Holgrosen and Graham known for great offenses and needing QBs have trouble beating Ranked Teams now.

He's a smart kid. He's in it for the free education. If he can bust his ass and beat out some higher rated kids and get PT, then so be it....if not, thanks for the degree. Ben and Jay are not stupid like the Wade's.

I think DiNucci will get a legit look. The kid definitely has an "IT" factor. Browne has talent or he would not have been a 5 star at one time. MV from what I hear has all the tools to be great, but lacks experience. Pickett will be redshirted unless a complete disaster occurs. Anyway, this could be the first year in a while we have legit competition at the QB spot.

My son is on the USC team and is actually one of Sam's roommates. My in-laws are from Pittsburgh and came out for the Rose Bowl game.

Max is an outstanding young man and we are happy to know that he is coming to Pitt. We all wish him much success. The decision to play Sam was more about Sam than Max. We will be cheering on the Panthers next year.

"If Max Browne is half as good as Sam Darnold"

Then Darnold is twice as good as Brown. Was that the answer? I love logic problems.

I would say there are a few differences in the two. I don't view one as half as good as the other or twice as good as the other. That is unfair in my view.
  1. Max is very bright as evidenced by his MBA
  2. Max commanded the respect of the entire locker room. Sam is a redshirt freshman who will eventually have Max's leadership skills
  3. Sam is more mobile and elusive. I believe Max was sacked 6 times and threw 96 passes. Sam was sacked 6 times while throwing 360 times
  4. Sam possesses the stronger arm...but his is stronger than any college QB I have seen this year.
  5. Sam makes more rapid decisions
Please don't misread my comments...we are big Max supporters.

Sems like a perfect MAC starter for a team like Kent or Toledo. I don't know if he will get his chance at Pitt with the guys in front of him...

Hey another PSU troll on the pITT board. Are you lost?

I mostly troll stupidity. I'm very non-discriminatory that way. I also have $99 in disposable income each year, so I spend the majority of my time with the high rollers on the paid board.

I mostly troll stupidity.

That would be a full time job on this board alone.

I'm no PSU fan, but that kid is a lot better than many on this board give him credit for. Without him running that offense, they'd be nowhere this year.

There is no doubt about this...McSorley is a tough competitor who makes that team run. We have immense respect for PSU and that young man. He is a very good college QB who will give opponents fits for the next two years...Sam will have the longer playing career.

Yes, he has done a great job, along with OC Moorehead. But do you deny that he occasionaly has a tendency to throw it up and let his receivers make plays. like the one Ryan Lewis came down with in September.
