Right now, I'm thinking you are going to see a boatload of X and Trey driving to the hoop and either finishing or kicking out to the wings. I don't mind playing small ball with this group.

I'm not saying that's the best solution overall; only the best solution Pitt had at the moment. Hopefully Pitt can shoot it well enough to force teams to adjust to playing small.

The 3 freshmen all rebound well for their positions. Drumgoole and Murphy can shoot it well. The optimistic view is the team rebounding and shooting are improved over last year.

Defensively, the post is still going to be a problem.

No I’m judging this kid ain’t good cuz I’ve actually watched his games. Not some highlight videos vs. midgets. If the lack of big men in 19 and 20 class had no contenders on him, why would he move the needle for Pitt.

Terrell Brown who in his second year with our big man coach would absolutely be a better rim protector than Sy. As for the 4, they’ll have to piece it together. Certainly weren’t gonna fix the entire program in 14 months

So you expect Brown to play 40 mins. a game, never get into foul trouble, and not get hurt. There is a 0% chance of that happening.

KU has a deep frontcourt with Azubuike, De Sousa (sort of), McCormack, Enaruna, and Lightfoot. They don't really need any more bigs.

Sy also had offers from Auburn, Texas Tech, and LSU. Three teams that were consistently ranked in the top 10-15.

If someone has watched Sy play and they think he sucks, why should they want him at Pitt? An argument predicated upon an appeal to authority is an argument founded on unsound logic. There’s not one poster who knows 10% of bb that JC knows , no matter how much you think you know . Your entitled to your own opinion , but I’ll stick with the coaches 99% of the time in player evaluation. If he wants a player on his team then he feels that guy will help him win , it’s not any more complicated than that .

My opinion on the abilities of a guy Pitts recruiting is as valuable as a share of Enron stock as is
yours . Watching a 5 minute highlight tape of a guy isn’t the same as actually watching him play and practice by a trained eye or talking to his current coaches . Reading box scores don’t tell the whole story either . What role do the Pitt coaches want him for ? I don’t know , do you ?
When he’s in a Pitt uniform and I’ve seen him play enough games then I’d have an opinion .
