I don't think he was a canidate, but rather blame him I think failure of the offense to execute was the players responsibility. Consider 3 picks, 3 or more drop passes(Holtz, Boyd come to mind), pass overthrown to an open receiver in the endzone prior to the missed FG attempt. Time to move on, Navy was the better prepared team.
