If this ps 4 home/home is it, would you go to neutral site?

Some of these games are lucrative for the school, not so much their hometown I guess. Va tech is getting over 4m for a game v Tenn at Bristol Speedway.

No, albeit for multiple reasons.

I think neutral site games are garbage, generally. And in this case, this one isn't even neutral, a game in Philly clearly favors psu.

I like the idea of neutral games for other teams thinks it's a very cool idea just want no parts of it for pitt vs sandusky state. Philly would be 97% pedophile fans. 1/2 way would ebensburg, not sure they have a stadium.

Neutral game would be fine, but would need to be against a more national team. Notre Dame at say Soldier Field would be fine (Chicago is a cool city, even though it would essentially be a home game for ND).

Wouldn't make any sense for PSU because for Pitt it would really be an away game and we wouldn't be a draw. PSU could schedule a number of different schools and provide a better product for the city and TV. Pitt could at least collect a sizable check every year instead of a good one every other, if Philly and PSU were really interested it.

On a personal note, the neutral site games are awful. They happen in pro cities, at the worst venues, where there is absolutely no college atmosphere. Obviously Pitt kind of already has that already, so it wouldn't be a huge change for us and our fanbase, but in general a game at Cowboy stadium is so, so, so much worse than one at The Big House, Death Valley, etc.

Dover Downs 140,000 available seats as neutral site as igood as it gets

Keep in mind not all PITT or psu alumni live geographically close to the universities

PITT had a great showing at the Military Bowl we can travel to Delaware

We can't get 50k to home games and PSU gets 90k. How would they fill 140k seats?

Dover is now down to 95,500 after renovations.

I vote for getting a rival in the ACC so the games have championship implications.

Let PSU go rot with WVU. Rivalries outside of conferences are gay.....unless ND is involved.

The Florida/Miami game is one of those "Week 1 Bowl Games." If DC or East Rutherford (or Philly) wanted to do a Week 1 Bowl Game between Pitt and PSU, Pitt would not say no but it wouldn't be an every year thing.

There isn't a truly 'neutral' venue available for this game so I don't see it happening. There's nothing wrong with a continuation of the rivalry on a home and home basis but it's apparent that that idea scares them.

If Philly was between both schools geographically I could buy it but it is 5 hours from PITTsburgh! Also, keep the revenue in PITTsburgh and State College.

Agree. I'm not sure how introducing a 3rd party to the mix makes this a better deal for either school. Plus, the only benefit UPS gets from playing us is the opportunity to play in Pittsburgh (recruit selling point for WPIAL kids). Outside of that, they'd be just as well off playing Eastern Rhode Island on a Tuesday night in State College than playing Pitt at a neutral site.

Could actually make more money for the neutral game (again, school- not happy valley) and if more home/home's off table- maybe only chance to play at all.

Why would ND want to play Pitt at a neutral site in Chicago? Better yet, why would Pitt want to do that? Even better yet, what benefit would the networks get out of a neutral site Pitt v. ND matchup?

I think it would be awesome.. But yeah, doesn't make too much sense.. You'd want to invite a program that has a big following, sadly we are not that. Maybe like a Texas vs. ND at Soldiers, that would be cool. I'd say somewhere in middle but not many venues worth going to in Missouri or Arkansas/Oklahoma..

They should play home and home in their own stadiums. Why should other sites make money off these games that they have nothing to do with the schools

Make it more of an event, attract bigger crowds.. I'd rather go to Chicago than South Bend. I've been to South Bend, great stadium, nice campus, boring as balls.. Waiting in line to see candles in cave or looking at student chapel pre game is fun, if you are Rudy, not so much if you are anyone else on the planet.. Chicago is fun.. Its entertainment, people should be entertained. With HD TV, you just cant rely on game anymore, you got to make it an all day thing, pre and post game activities..

The only "neutral" site games I would like would be like the one in Orlando or playing a southern team in Atlanta's new stadium

I'm not sure how moving the game to Solider Field that has a capacity of around 62K for football can attract a bigger crowd than having it in South Bend where the stadium can fit about 80K for football.

No kidding.
People here talk about how traumatic it is for the students to get transportation to Heinz Field which is five miles away. How about to a game in Philly, Chicago, etc
