If you need more evidence that Narduzzi is an upgrade over recent coaches

Rewatch the last offensive drive. The play calling and tempo couldn't have been much better. That level of game management likely wouldn't have happened that way with other recent coaches.

Walt would have had the QB slide into the middle of field on 3rd down to set up a field goal.

DW would have run the ball in with 1:59 left on the clock then inexplicably kick off to the player most similar to Mardy Gilyard- giving up 95 yard return for a TD.

Fraud would have had 3 series of 3 and out in the last 4 minutes leaving Pitt down 21 at the half.

Chryst would still be standing on the sideline, befuddled by thoughts of what to do next and fried cheese curds.

Clearly Narduzzi is an upgrade.

Now he has to work on first half defensive performance go back and watch all games. How was our D in the first half of the Virginia game?? What D? Disappointing work in progress!
Plus 4th qtr defensive results re: Marshall, Nitters, UNC. Thankfully we won 2 of 3 so that's
progress.

But he is making progress. As I said before if you surround a great coach with incompetent coordinators don't expect much from the great coach.
Although Canada is doing ok not sure about the bearded one Josh Conklin!

The people making comments like the ones you described either do not understand football or simply are not Pitt fans. This is the best overall staff we've had since Sherrill.

if we are losing I think "it's not over these kids fight, and a comeback is on the brink" i know we have a blown a couple leads as well but at every kickoff I feel strongly that we can win. I haven't felt this way since 80's.

I think Fuzz is the best coach since Gottfried, and can be on Majors 1 Sherrill level the future looks that bright.

With that said I am frustrated that he won't tweak his defense to there level of his players. Outside of Whitehead his DBs cannot run the scheme he wants. When he gets his guys the defense should become good-great. Right now they are not good running his scheme. They could atleast be serviceable playing more of a zone scheme.

When he gets his guys in place he should become a great coach.

What makes anyone think tweeking the approach would be better results? This same caliber of players were horrible playing that "soft everything in front of you" style under House 2 years ago. AND they weren't helping the offense by getting sacks or turnovers. It's the talent of the DBs that's the problem, not the scheme.
