I never knew or realized that. Is that true? Meyer said Toney is naturally a wing but is playing in the frontcourt.

I didn't know he was a 3. My bad I guess.

He’s more of a 3 but I also think Capel would be fine playing him at the 4 in the 4-out if we have a true center to rebound and dominate the paint.

The problem is this year, we don’t have that 5 so while Toney is naturally a 3, he’s playing the 4 and even having to do some of the duties of a 5.

What he’s doing is very impressive, and a lot of it doesn’t show up in the box score or even to the eye of most fans.

In today’s game other than perhaps a true pG and. True 5. The rest of the positions are not as clearly defined as perhaps they were in the past. As some have said Toney is not a true power forward and he’s not quite a wing. Since Pitt doesn’t have a power forward he’s kind of playing both.

He's a 3 / 4 as of right now today. Toney averages 6 boards per game with a drp of over 15.5. Thats better than Sam Young, Levon Kendall, Dante Taylor, Mike Young etc.. and he is only a true freshmen. He's also, with no disrespect to Mcgowens, easily our best defender. I have Clemson marked on the calander because someone from Clemson is getting completely locked up on offense when Toney plays in rd 2 against them.

Kinda sorta....in long run he’s a 3 but jumper and ball handling isn’t quite there yet. Kinda like Sam Young his first couple years
