So... this presumes you would sign up and get a new internet-only service in place to replace Comcast cable and internet. Where i live, that would be fios. Some might get it through satellite (?). I live in a valley where those around me do not do well with satellite so it would seem Fios is the only other option.
Where i live I also cannot use 4G to replace a phone landline (barely any decent coverage with any of the wireless phone services). So a triple bundle with Verizon fios appears it would be the best (only) option where I live. Because they always seem to make the triple bundle more economical to sign up for "for the first year" then just two of the services.
I'm tempted to be sure, not just for the ACC network (in fact that merely would be a small reason to endure the hassle).
But I've heard horror stories of canceling Comcast service. They supposedly bog you in phone chain transfer hell and outright threaten your family if you persist. I know they've been hellish to call and attempt to get better deals after a trial expires, and that's when they are KEEPING me as a customer. Anyone have this experience too?
This OP insinuates you just unplug your comcast gateway and cable boxes and drop them off at a comcast store, and you're free?
Somehow i can't imagine that they permit this loophole to make things that easy. I envision being escorted to "the little room" similar to a new car negotiation where i'd be browbeat for hours, only in person instead of on hold over the phone.
Sorry for the thinking aloud. And the pessimism. If these are urban legends I'd appreciate the enlightenment.
