Instead of 2 & 3 star recruits permeating our roster, we need 4's and 5's

We only have one four star recruit next year and are in the basement of the acc recruiting wise. 8-4 is about the height of what can be accomplished. It isn't a question of if the coach will leave, only a question of when. Mediocrity while all of us are still on the planet.

He is coaching well but I have no clue why people on this board keep saying he is excelling with recruiting. That's pretty obvious. Our recruiting class is about 60th in the ncaa right now

Definitely! But the rest of them will keep the team mediocre.. Getting a HIGH ranked player or two from WPIAL is nice but recruiting has to be widened from that area.

Or James Conner, I believe the star system is somewhat over rated too many high school players to rate, how fair is their rating system, some of Pitts 2016 recruits went from 2 stars to 3 stars

As posters have mentioned we've had a lot of 2 & 3 star potential and NFL superstars.
In my opinion just recruiting 4 & 5 stars ignoring how they fit into the university, the team, and the football scheme is senseless just look at Michigan under previous coach Mr. Magoo.

Pitt needs to find recruits that are coachable, and have upside which is very important. Lots of 4 & 5 stars are maxed out and not coachable while a 3 star might have tremendous upside given the right coaching staff.

I believe we have a staff that will coach up a lot of players we just need the right coachable guys!

A. Recruiting isn't done until February. You should worry more about Miles Sanders flipping from your Lions to the Panthers.

Recruiting isn't even over for like three more months. Wait till then to make a judgement in recruiting.

The recruiting services rank classes mostly on quantity, not quality. For example, if we were sitting right now with 30 2 star recruits, we'd probably rank in the Top 10 or 15 simply due to quantity. Then, we'd be gradually passed as more commitments roll in from the other team.

Look at "average star rank." Thats the best way to judge a class.
