Interesting stat regarding Pitt's scoring

This offense has been the best in Pitt history and without a 100% Conner, and without big-time talent at QB and WR.

That brings up a good point. Generally, when a team is developing, the defense is usually ahead of the offense. I thought there were enough players on D to make up for some of the holes at LB and CB.

Also add, this secondary has been the worst in Pitt's history.

Next year should be interesting. The OL will still be a major strength. RB will still be a strength. Pitt should have 2 dynamic weapons at TE. WR will hopefully see some growth with Matthews, Henderson, Flowers. QB will be a big question mark, but if he Mac was really moving up the depth chart this year, it tells me he is working through his accuracy issues he had earlier in camp.

Can't complain about the O, even the passing game has become competent IMO. All the losses are on the D, and more specifically you can lay the blame on the secondary and pass coverage.
