Even if we lose.

I think on paper Iowa probably has more talent and playing at home at night is a big advantage. Two games in, I would say we have played solid disciplined football. Most of the time, guys are in the right positions to make plays. Someone in another thread mentioned wanny and Graham and chryst lost these games. It would be great if Narduzzi can break away from the frustrating losses of past out coached pitt leaders. I have a really good feeling about tonight.

Michigan State Spartan here. Love Narduzzi and miss him. I will tune in your game vs Iowa tonight and pull for the Panthers. Narduzzi's appeal far outweighs my B1G allegiance.

You guys have a really good man and great coach. Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania football deserve to see the Panthers return to national prominence. I expect Narduzzi will get you there sooner than most think. Good luck.

Also, hopefully no hard feelings over losing out on Cassius Winston to Izzo.

As an Iowa fan, I would also say that Pitt/Narduzzi will tell us a great deal about what we really have for a quarterback.

I think this game will tell you more about Iowa's offensive line than Beathard. We already know we have a good quarterback. But even good quarterbacks have bad games. Just ask Peyton Manning or Tom Brady

Lots to like about Coach Narduzzi. Really like his enthusiasm and how he has assembled a pretty good coaching staff at Pitt. He seems to have the foundation to evolve into a very good head coach.

Go Pitt.

It is too early for this game to say a ton about Narduzzi as a head coach.

This game will tell us a ton about the 2015 Pitt Panthers football team, however.

coaches can't be judged in year 1. Year 2 is the earliest.
Even year 2 is pretty early. I will say though, I was expecting a much more talented Pitt team this year with Conner obvisouly healthy. If Narduzzi can put together a decent season this year, I think he'll have no problem winning here when he starts to bring in some more talent.

Fans are too hung up on winning and losing as far as individual games go. What matters is following the correct processes to win consistently. There are so many luck factors in sports the average fan does not seem to understand.

What I am looking for tonight is a good scheme offensively and defensively and the players improving from last week. The results will be their sooner rather than later.

Exactly deer head. I have seen some nice things from Narduzzi early here. If he can continue putting the preparation in for a difficult Power5 opponent on the road, that tells me something. (like we might actually have a competent coach for once...)

Welcome to Iowa City ... Pitt Coach Pat Narduzzi. You made a visit in 2007 as a first year DC at MSU, now 2015, as a first year head coach...

peace

Fans indeed are hung up on winning and losing, yes. They like the former and not the latter. Funny how that works.

I don't think it's wise to base opinion on any coach on one game. And for those of us who want to like PN so much, to believe he's The Guy, I think it will especially be wise not to base judgement solely on THIS game. Because I don't think it's going to be too pretty. The defense has a ways to go and the offense is going to resemble a Chinese fire drill I fear. Too many glaring uncertainties. Can sometimes compensate for a weak QB OR for a shaky tailback situation OR a disheveled OL ... but not all three at once. Throw in a loud hostile crowd and that usually results in frequent mistakes.

Good news is that there is a long season to go, it's not a conference game, and there's ability to improve.
