Iowa QB is a giant bruise right now

Cj Beathard took 13 hard hits including 2 helmet to helmet strikes. I really liked the big hits myself and enjoyed watching the smashmouth football, but man CJB must have been in an ice bath for awhile after the game.

I watched the game again today after work (I'm a union sheetmetal worker btw/Love working with steel..) and have to say I really like your team. Your offensive line pass blocked quite well. BOYD is a stud of course and I thought #14 Maddux? on defense played hard on the edge. Very well coached team that will only get better in the coming years. I know it's been said before but I wish Iowa played Pitt every year. Close,tough,grind it out battles every game. Very entertaining to me. Good luck the rest of the way Panthers!

Good post. I enjoyed the series with your Hawkeyes - and the Iowa Athletic Director was pretty shrewd in scheduling Pitt during all the coaching changes at Pitt . I'd like to see a couple more games after Coach Duzz has been here for a while (presuming Coach Duzz will be here for a while...).

I was going to say that I hope you guys whip Penn State, but I see you don't play - which is unfortunate.
Penn State's schedule is pretty ridiculous.

Playing the Pitt Defense in the future will result in Pain after the game. Just Hope USC or the Steelers do not take away our Defensive Coordinator! He reminds me of Bo Pelini when he was so young.

I love this Pitt Coaching Staff they have the Players discipline Game Day Execution Ball, with fewer mistakes, but has coached them up! They need to recruit far more Talent and you can see what and how they have made Whitehead an instant Defensive Player contributing as a Freshmen.

I know it just as been 3 Games, and we shall see how Pitt does against VT, UVA & GT soon, but I really like how the Players respond to this dynamic and confident coaching staff!

Way better than what I saw from Graham, and Chryst's first year! They are excited to be at Pitt and love coaching the Players and Players love it too, one can see it!

Thanks for your note. I think most Pitt fans enjoyed the series (if not the outcomes).

Regarding Beathard, the guy stood in and took a pretty good pounding and never backed down. As to the bruises and bumps, nothing makes those pains go away better then a W.

Beathard was the difference in the game. The guy made plays in the clutch-on target throws and critical scrambles at the key points in the game. he's a play maker, exactly what you want at QB.
