I would swear he was listed at 6-9 when he signed, shortly thereafter 6-8, noticed today he's down to 6-7. Soon he'll be listed as a point guard.
Yeah but he had supposedly over a 7ft wingspan. And made up for his lack of size with his big body and rear.Dejuan Blair in many instances was listed as 6'8" in HS. What was he? 6'5"?
I can remember 6’7 all time center Wes Unseld barely topping 6’4. But what a player.I would swear he was listed at 6-9 when he signed, shortly thereafter 6-8, noticed today he's down to 6-7. Soon he'll be listed as a point guard.

Ill take Bryce Golden at 6'7" or 6'9". A forward tandem including him and Stevenson has a lot of promise.
Me, too. In addition to his outside shooting, his videos show him being a more developed inside banger and back-to-the-basket player than of the bigs currently on the roster. In comparison to top teams in the ACC, that may not be saying much; however, it's a dimension much needed with this group.
I have seen Golden twice on TV. I don't know how much scoring or how many rebounds he will secure as a freshman, but he is stronger than any big we currently have. He will hold his position on defense, block out rebounding and carve out space in the paint.Ill take Bryce Golden at 6'7" or 6'9". A forward tandem including him and Stevenson has a lot of promise.
Good. That’s 3 things we don’t have this year...He will hold his position on defense, block out rebounding and carve out space in the paint.

Don’t think many D1 freshman are stronger than StevensonI've only seen him once, and I hope you're right, but I wouldn't say he's stronger that Stevenson. Not sure what can be learned watching one high school game anyway.
Did not mean to include Stevenson - I don't (and I think Stevenson doesn't) consider him a big. I know he has to play like one for us.I've only seen him once, and I hope you're right, but I wouldn't say he's stronger that Stevenson. Not sure what can be learned watching one high school game anyway.

True thatStevenson was quoted as an incoming recruit that he viewed himself as more of a SF than a PF. Unfortunately he hasn't had much of a chance to show it given our lack of size.
Blair was 6-5 1/2 when he measured for the combine.
Chevy Troutman told me he is actually 6-5.
Yeah but he had supposedly over a 7ft wingspan. And made up for his lack of size with his big body and rear.
Lett was 6-4 1/2Very true. Reach (wingspan) and width are more important than actual height. Some shorter players have enough extra long reach and width/bulk to effectively perform equivalently to players who are taller in height. Charles Barkley also comes to mind as being in this category. For Pitt you can add Ontario Lett to the list headed by Blair.
Wes was a man of few words and no sympathy for anyone who came into the paint. When the Bullets were in Baltimore it was a blast watching Wes and Jack Marin play.I can remember 6’7 all time center Wes Unseld barely topping 6’4. But what a player.
