I truly believe Stallings quit after the press conference/fan reception. These guys have egos and he was a fairly accomplished coach, winning the SEC a few years prior and having just coached in the NCAAT. Felt "eff these idiots, you dont want me, I'll retire and take your $$$$." Seemed like he barely tried. I think Narduzzi is a good person and of good character so I dont think he is purposely tanking like Stallings but we may have reached the point where we have a very rich 57 year old coach going through the motions. I know these guys are competitors but this is a tough job, especially as you get older. I wonder sometimes about the commitment level of some of these older rich guys.

I believe the slow conference implosion that we’re in the midst of (the ACC is dying a slow death, and all but a few of the schools will not be moving on to the top level of the sport after 2030); as well as the unlimited, unregulated NIL Pay For Play, might just have him giving up.

If you had to pinpoint a specific milestone it could be the loss of Addison. That situation had to be as incredulous to him almost as much as it was to us Pitt fans. In Duz mind, he put that little twerp on the map and the punk flipped Duz the double bird and abandoned him.

Most savvy fans already know that Pitt has very little ability (or interest) to stay competitive at the top level of college football. We can’t pay players the same as the top 20 … hell as much as the top 40 or 50 … programs. And it’s already clear that the Big Ten and SEC won’t want us. So things are only going to get worse. He knows all that too. So why bust your butt in a futile cause?

Maybe he quit after Jordan Addison left knowing it was over for Pitt.

Agree

If im narduzzi....with millions in the bank....and no real path forward to be relevant,

Im seriously considering going back to being a very good DC at a high profile program.

As you correctly point out....conference shakeup....no NIL money and a pathetic administration and i absolutely am thinking about a DC gig

He has so much guaranteed money though. Heather guaranteed him the riches of a small kingdom due to 1 year of a Kenny Covid season. So he cant be seriously thinking of giving that up. Maybe a buyout could be reached where we pay his B10 DC salary + an extra $3 million per year or something like that.

Do you think "pathetic" when you peer into the mirror? You troll free message boards, so I'd say that Narduzzi has out trolled you for certain as you microwave your daily meals, no?
