There is a thread title on the premium board but I cannot buy that again until I get my next Covid stimulus check. I laughed out loud when I read that and then I thought its actually not a bad idea. The guy is big, physical, and athletic.
Off-topic, but I don’t think there’s a better poster on here in terms of combining football knowledge with witty humor- I enjoy seeing your posts pop up. We need that right now in a rather bleak season!I think this is a good decision. Now he just needs to Donnie Darko back to 2019 and he should have an amazeballs career ahead of him.
But seriously... we should let every player switch positions for the next few games just to keep it fun. Like when the Foo Fighters all switch instruments for a song or two.

I legitimately like this. The kid is a good athlete. I doubt he plays much but his QB days are over, why not give it a shot? Remember Aaron Hernandez's UConn QB brother moved to TE after looking like Dan Marino vs us.
I hate to say this but I am even a little bit excited for the rest of the season. I was seriously dreading but if Villeaux throws a games winning TD to Jurkovec, I may join the Panther Pitt tearing down the goalposts.
I remember Matt Jones for Arkansas moved to WR and somehow got taken in the first round.
Tebow also dabbled with TE, and the results were about as healthy as his baseball career.
But I do admit the novelty of this also has my interest. Hell, I might let Phil play basketball, too. Goodness knows he already has the bounce pass down. Let's send him out in style for his sweet 26th. After he catches the game winning TD against Notre Dame in football, he can drain a 3 at the buzzer against BC in the Phil Jurkovec Gold-Tarnishing Catholic-Hatin' Revenge Tour.

The preseason games Tebow played at tight end were incredible. I've never seen a guy block like that. He made Pat Freirmeueth look like Alan Faneca.I remember Matt Jones for Arkansas moved to WR and somehow got taken in the first round.

It worked for Darrell Strong!
Logan Thomas is another one. 3-year starting QB at Virginia Tech. Played 3 years at QB in the NFL before switching to tight end. He’s the Commanders starting tight end. Caught 72 passes for 670 yards in 2020.Blake Bell switched from QB to TE early at Oklahoma and has made a near 10 year NFL career out of it.
Yeah, Thomas is didn't switch until his 3rd year in the NFL. Having a good game for Wash tonight.Logan Thomas is another one. 3-year starting QB at Virginia Tech. Played 3 years at QB in the NFL before switching to tight end. He’s the Commanders starting tight end.

How about all the big, fast, athletic people who don't make it to the NFL? I think you kind of need some skill to catch passes and run routes or why didn't every track star become a star football player? All of these examples show just how little "skill" it takes to play football in comparison with other sports like skating, sticks handling, dribbling a basketball or soccer ball, pitching, hitting. Football is size, speed, athleticism. If you are big, fast, and athletic, you have a shot at D1 or the NFL. You dont have to possess any great skill.
I thought that Pike had replaced some little Italian dude? I recall it was a guy that still had roasted our bad defense because he was a little mobile wiener that Wanny never could figure out, and we were happy that this seemingly big slow doofus was taking over for him. Eh, it was all a disaster, just like this season is a disaster, so what’s the difference if the clown show with Jurk continues to play out.I just learned that the great Tony Pike at Cincinnati replaced Travis Kelce at QB after he was injured. Pitt is such a snake-bitten program. Had Kelce not gotten injured, he stays at QB and Cincy doesn't have the season they have, we go to the Sugar Bowl to play another future TE and Kelce never switches to TE and Taylor Swift ends up dating his brother.

You're a marvel. You routinely double, triple and quadruple down on your own idiocy. Most elite track guys could transition to football and make at least an NFL practice squad if they are fully committed and the team is ok with the learning curve. Football is purely athleticism. You need a little skill, not very much. Shoot look at Jester Weah. Track guy (not elite). Didnt play HS till senior in HS and made the NFL for a minute
Jay Riemersma is another. QB at Michigan until he hurt his shoulder. Said that injury was "divine intervention" because he never would have made the NFL as a QB.Logan Thomas is another one. 3-year starting QB at Virginia Tech. You know Messi would have been a Hall of Fame 2nd Basemen if he had played baseball from childhood, ask SMF, he'll tell youYou're a marvel. You routinely double, triple and quadruple down on your own idiocy.

You make this assumption, that anyone that is great at one sport will automatically be great at any sport. Sure, maybe Messi would be good if he learned baseball at a young age. but you can't just assume he'd be hall of fame level, maybe he'd be a minor leaguer or get cut from his high school team, you don't know.100%. His hand eye coordination is maybe the best in human history.
That’s why he plays a sport where you can’t use your hands?100%. His hand eye coordination is maybe the best in human history.
He also thinks LeBron would be the greatest soccer player ever if he played soccer from age 4.That’s why he plays a sport where you can’t use your hands?
It just isn't enough for SMF to make a relatively reasonable statement toward a point, like staying these top-level best in class elite athletes would probably excel at just about any sport they focused on from an early age. I doubt he'd get much pushback on that type of opinion, which is probably why he goes to such extreme lengths with his crazy posts. SMF's personal version of "Clickbait" I suppose. He also thinks LeBron would be the greatest soccer player ever if he played soccer from age 4.

"Great" meaning, he's in the GOAT conversation in basketball and maybe in football he might have made an NFL practice squad, or maybe in soccer be a USL GK. But no, there's no guarantee he'd be a hall of famer in every sport. So we agree. Yes, someone like LeBron, one of the best athletes to ever walk the face of the earth, could have been great at ANY sport had he focused on that his whole life.

Again, it's your same insanity, plenty of all state players in the best football states, never make the NFL. and while it's possible LeBron could be an NFL hall of famer, it's just as possible, that he never makes it to the NFL, there's so much that goes into the entire journey that nothing is guaranteed, look at all the SURE THING #1 NFL or NBA picks who are the strongest and biggest and fastest, who end up busts in a few years. Some of them likely are in the top 1% athleticism that you claim to understand so well.He was all-state football in a pretty good state. He would have been an NFL HOF'er, come on. He's one of the best athletes who ever lived. You dont understand athletism.
