Is there a difference between the Biz blue and the Whitehead blue?

Whitehead's said Pittsburgh on the back bur was that the only difference? I didnt notice any other differences and if that's the case, I didnt know why Pitt would have Nike make 100 extra blue jerseys with the only difference being that Pittsburgh would replace last names on the back. Seems like they should have made them a little more different but maybe I am missing something.

It's only because #33 is a retired number. The names will be on all of the other ones.

Just to be clear, are you guys saying definitively that the players won't be wearing nameplates with the word "Pittsburgh" on the backs of every single jersey this year?

If that is true, then why was Whitehead wearing a jersey with the word "Pittsburgh" on it? Also, when did he change his uniform number from 9 to 33?

Where has that been written officially because I can't find it? I'm going with the idea that they are going to do an homage to the university's namesake city.

I guess we'll find out who's right in September?

Yea, I found it confusing as to why there were 3 players modeling, which led me to believe they were 3 different jerseys, especially because Whitehead's said "Pittsburgh." I knew it was a Dorsett jersey but with some teams putting different stuff on the back now like Under Armour putting military-style virtues in place of last names (courage, honor), I thought we were going with an alternate jersey that read "Pittsburgh" on the back......and I couldn't hear a word Stockey said due to poor acoustics.

So, I guess the "Pittsburgh" on the back was simply to pay homage to Dorsett and have 3 players model so as not to leave out the senior QB, the spokesman (Biz), or the star.

For the record, I dont think it would be a bad idea to have an alternate uniform with Pittsburgh on the back but I would do it as part of a Pittsburgh theme day, black and gold (not yellow) uniforms, 412 on the helmet, etc.

I believe it's 3 different combinations. One is blue with gold pants, one is blue with white pants. There is only one blue jersey top though. They did however say there will also be a retro uniform this season.
