PSU would be easier to beat and maybe I'm rooting against my own interests but I am rooting for Texas tomorrow.
Uh, it is always the best interest of a Pitt fan to have them lose no matter what the circumstances are...
Yea, especially being that they play before us, I cannot possibly root for them knowing that we could lose our game and then they can beat Xavier to go to the Elite 8. If we won and they played after us, I'd still root for Texas but I'd feel partly guilty because PSU would be easier to beat. Not that it would be a guaranteed victory because they are playing as well as anyone but they'd be easier to beat than Texas.

I couldn't help myself in my bracket, I wanted to mark PSU as a loss in the first round but it just sounded like too much of a great comeback season story for Pitt to beat them to get to the Elite 8.

Based on this logic, Pitt would play Thursday and Penn State would play Friday.

I'm not sure where you got that from, but it has literally never been that way. There was a time, a long time ago, that if you played on Thursday and Saturday the first weekend you also played on Thursday and Saturday the second weekend, and likewise with Friday and Sunday. But there has never been a time that the games automatically switched from one weekend to the next.
And your hint should be that Penn State is playing Thursday and Saturday this weekend while we are playing Friday and Sunday. So what, we'd show up and the arena to play on Thursday and the nitters would show up for the game on Friday?
