Pretty good. Straight out of Compton stole some of dre's thunder, but some great stories about Jimmy Lovine.

I hate rap, always have, always will. But, this show is fascinating. Just seeing the history and thoughts behind NWA, and Ruthless is really cool, and Dre's a freaking genius. I really like the Iovine segments, as I'm a big Springsteen and Petty fan. Great to get the backstory on both.

Just curious why do you hate rap music ?

Just not my thing. Grew up in the 80's, love hair metal, and a lot of classic rock. I guess I just don't get rap. Different strokes, I guess.

The John Lennon, Patti Smith and Stevie nicks stories were pretty cool.

It's pretty good.

Unfortunately, I saw Episode 3 last night and not yet 2 and 1. But it was fantastic and riveting. I forgot how vicious all of that became. Looking forward to watching it all. And shows you that alot of this violence in that community is NOT all economic related.

guessing because when compared to rock, r & b, country, big band, clasical etc. it really does not even compare in any shape or form to even being music....Man, listen to Marvin Gaye or George Benson or the Four Tops and then to rap, come on.

Dre is an interesting guy. As this series highlights, he is so extraordinarily talented, and disciplined, as a producer. He was able to live in and be looked up to in that culture while, with a few odd slip ups, stay away from actually delving into the street behavior.

They are being too kind to Suge Knight, IMO.
