Did they say on tv what they were reviewing? I thought they were reviewing how the helmet came off to see if the player had to leave the field for the next play or not. I never thought the facemask/fumble was under review.
What makes you think you can grab a players helmet like that and turn it like that? He didn’t grab the top of it, he grabbed the open part of it.
I didn’t like it, on top of that it appeared like he had fumbled and then he grabbed right above his face mask. Regardless though, that was one score and not nearly the worst thing that happened (and it involved the replay crew). What the officiating crew should come under fire for was the ridiculous missed PI call (followed by a missed holding call).
It was great to see pitt win a game where a missed call could’ve hurt them so much and contributed significantly to a loss. All you can do is move on and take care of business and pitt did that. Now that it’s over though, there needs to be punishment of some sort. You flat out don’t belong out there if you can’t make a call on such a textbook example of the penalty.

GT got away with a blatant PI and also a hold on the return of the INT.
The announcers even blamed it on the players dreadlocks.

Penalty calling has to be consistent..
Pickets interception atleast 4 flags should have been thrown against GT.. the hold right infront of the HL and nothing was crazy or lazy... watch KP get crushed in the back after the pick.
James Bates is the one who made the dreadlocks comment. I only wish that was the dumbest thing he's said during the many (too many for my tastes) Pitt games he's broadcast.
Pitt needs to get back into the Top 25 if for no other reason than to get better announcers at the games.
Thought Pickett's judgement cost the O a drive or two in the first half. Stuck the ball in the rb's gut facing unblocked defenders instead of pulling the ball and taking off. Also could have run for an easy first down. I'm sure this will get better with experience. Point is the score may have been even more lopsided at half.
