J. Davidson is Transferring

Seemed like a reach when signed, classic chyrst filler. Not trying to diss the kid but the staff have evaluated him and are doing a bit of spring cleaning if you will.

Any clues as to where he's headed? (Just curious, because while I've never met him, I know his family pretty well.)

For everytime someone points to an Antonio Bryant or Dion Lewis and says stars dont matter, there are 10 Jaquan Davidson that say they do. Probably a good kid but a lowly rated reach recruit who was in over his head.
not a fan of recruiting these "athlete" types that can play de back or WR. When they can play either, it means they are not good enough to play one.. I hope Narduzzi's strategy with this works better.. No knock on this young man though, he gave it a shot.. WIsh him well, he's a better player than 99% of us were/are.. Nothing to be ashamed of at all..

Best of luck to him and hope he finds a good place for education and seeing the playing field.

In terms of still needing to cut down further, again it wont be an issue getting there with this roster.

Going into the fall, there are a couple of RS seniors (Wuestner & Guy) that could leave, especially If they have already graduated.

Most of the best HS skill-position players coming out are capable of playing multiple positions, and do so in H.S.. Tyler Boyd is a great example of that. Whitehead, Maddox, etc.

Narduzzi's very first full recruiting class contains several such players.

The problem is not with a player's versatility, it's about whether he's a legit P5-caliber football player/athlete in the first place. Davidson was a questionable P5 level recruit. We took a chance on him and it didn't work out for either party. Hope he lands somewhere where he can get on the field and have some fun. Football is a lot of blood, sweat and tears to endure when you're not getting game reps.

I was referring to the recruit that comes in without a clear cut position. We have a few in last years class, hopefully Duzz can turn the trend.
