Jadun Michael update

Nice words about all the schools. I's guess NC State, but hopefully Capel can persuade him a lot here. Has a few close-to-home schools and with everything going on, those schools may win out. Hopefully like us with Jeffress.

Memphis scares me with Jeffress. I hope I’m wrong, but they’re swinging and missing on their top choices and if they pivot to Jeffess, they’re a tough beat.

This kid is a bit of a late riser and outgrew Wichita, especially with the mess going on there. He’d be a real nice get

I think Jeffress is looking for a good school, so Memphis doesn’t scare me that much. Stanford does, for that reason.

Pitt/Baylor... then Penn State. He has an uncle who works at Baylor.

Not sweating this one too much. All signs point to Jeffress being a Panther, even if by default.

The one school I’d be worried about making a late push with is Virginia. If they don’t land Jadun, they seem to offer everything we do plus obviously a lot more winning and developing NBA guys. Hopefully proximity wins out.

I’m reasonably assuming that we had one of, if not the last virtual visits with him. This could be good for us but what a rapid strange recruitment.

Just committed to Elon. The pandemic is going to cause some strange recruiting results, especially since the kid said that he decommitted because he didn’t want to be too far from home.

2/3 female, beautiful campus, can get his early. Interesting choice but can’t say I blame him.

Man, that's weird but with transfer waivers coming, he can transfer for free after his FR year so maybe not a bad idea to stay home for his first year.

Per Craig Meyer from the post Gazette. Is he a jock rider?
I’d imagine he’s not, although he works to get Pitt news for the post gazette and I would imagine repeats what he’s told. 247 sports says we offered. I’ll trust a site that reports only on recruiting over what a reporter was told to save face.

Lol. Dokish said yesterday Jason has been recruiting him since his freshmen year. Now we didn’t offer him? Amazing how we haven’t missed on a prospect in 3 years according to the jock riders.

That kind of stuff is so annoying. Every coach misses on recruits. Every coach misses on A LOT of recruits. Sounds like this kid wanted to stay close to home so we really didn't have much of a chance. But come on, we recruited & offered him.

Exactly. No one cares we missed out on this kid. But to try to say we didn’t ruins your credibility.

We all know Jokish has no credibility though. I find it interesting that his information comes directly from Jason though.

I’m with you on that but Meyer doesn’t appear to be a lackey for Capel. He’s written articles stating that Capel’s first year was hopeful and second year was a disappointment. So he does show a Measure of objectivity in what he writes. There’s actually three possibilities here:
1) We offered and he turned them down
2) We flirted but didn’t offer
3) We offered but then pulled the offer because we got hot on someone else or we felt better about landing Jeffers and needed the ship

It’s okay to recognize that we recruited him, while also recognizing that he’s probably lower on the totem pole than Jeffress and Murphy, and with two scholarships available, I don’t think the staff would take him if his commitment date was today with those two guys still on the board. Doesn’t seem like we would have won out anyway, so it’s a moot point.

I just hope you get a back up point guard. Or X will be playing 40 minutes a game. No way Femi can come into the ACC and be ready to play quality point guard minutes. And Femi will split with Horton. Unless Drumgoole takes a huge step up.

Who is avid me to guard especially at the point?

Looking like this staff fully expects XJ to play 30-35 minutes a game. Seems kind of obvious rn... unless something is happening silently, but doesn't look like it.

I suspect Coach Capel's top two priorities right now are: finding a transfer point guard who can shoot a little, AND, not succumbing to the global pandemic. Not necessarily in that order, but potentially in that order.
