James Robinson Stat

Against Syracuse, ND, Louisville, NC State, Clemson, & Virginia Robinson is 9-48 from the field. That's 18.8%.

Pathetic. And people wonder why I am so down on the guy. With stats like that should we be jumping for joy? Oh wait though, he has a great assist to turnover ratio, yay!!!

I know I am piling on. But again JRob had 6 Assist to Zero Turnover day! Just to show you how utterly meaningless this stat is. And of those assists, does anyone remember any ONE of them with a "wow, what a great dish"? They were all along the perimeter or a dump to Mike Young or Artis where they did all of the work.

He reminds me of a QB who on 3rd and 7 always dumps the ball to the checkdown for a 4-5 yard gain. Always completes the pass (aka High Completion %) never gets it picked (ie low interception %) and zero 1st down. No plays made. That is James Robinson. And it is okay if he can't shoot if he could create offense on the drive and play great defense, but he does neither.

I do think this could be an addition by subtraction next year. What is a shame, he just has never gotten any better from his Freshman year.

JROB's ATOR is way better than Trey Burke's was.

So there.

Nice kid. Class act. Wish him all the best. Won't miss seeing him on the floor in a Pitt uniform.

Not that it matters, Assist aren't like hockey... Simply by having last touch.
Only count if the shot is taken with two Steps...
So, that's not accurate.

He actually played pretty good Defense.
And since he didn't play in the nearly final 8 minutes of the game...
Maybe you didn't notice.

I am not going to bash the kid. He's a great representative of our university. I will just say that I am guessing he will not be the winningest player in the history of Pitt like he was at Dematha. He may be the PG with the worst winning % at Pitt this century. Just a hunch.

It's amazing how some people on here will never say one bad thing about Robinson , and keep justifying his poor play for the last 4 years , he hasn't improved AT ALL since his freshman year .. Yet those same guys loved to bash Woodall , Wanamaker , Lamar , Krauser .. I know he's a good kid and blah blah blah but whatever I won't miss watching him play basketball at all ..

Just wait until he scores 11 or so against a bad team - then ALL the Robinson defenders will be on here acting like he's better than Fields and Krauser combined and how we'll miss him when he's gone.

Go back and look at Levance fields senior year and Robinson. Almost the same production without the supporting cast. James Robinson struggles when the team struggles and visa versa. He's got to make open shots and he hasn't and he is to blame for that. But no one is cutting driving anything. This is a soft jump shooting team and Kat barber wouldn't change that.

You nailed it with this post. There are other quick guards in the ACC who drive and dish and may have a couple more TO's but at least they score on the ones that are completed. Instead, Pitt plays the "wait forever to take a shot" & "only make only 85% + passes". Because they play this way, we get trapped a lot and turn it over that way &/or have J-Rob hauling up three pointers that just turnout to be ugly bricks...

But remember, "he's one of our best players" lol

so coach, Barber driving and dishing to an open shooter wouldn't matter, or driving and making a layup(that JR missed today) wouldn't matter, or Barber hitting his shots wouldn't matter--OK.

Souf defending his "serviceable" point guard----"serviceable" is very kind

Who's going to be open?

Teams don't play the Dixon help defense we love to play.

Barber would score and command the ball which would mean less shots and points for Artis and young. And barber isn't half the defender Robinson is. Now if we had barber at the two and kept James I'd wager you'd see a different team. We need a shooting guard more than a point guard

Never thought I'd miss Woodall, but he and Gibbs were night and day a better backcourt than JROB and the rotation of pikers we've rolled out at the 2 the past several years. Woodall was;t the most talented guy but he was tough as nails, mentally and physically. We don't have anyone on this team that fits that description.

A message board genius opined last week that Robinson was better than Fields. True story. I dont want to call him out to embarrass him.

tremendous play by Barber, get a time out coach K, point guard is your key Bob, I would hope you understand that, of course both guards are important, but, JR, is very average against good competition.

Look point guards do matter and Robinson isn't the helping us especially vs good competition. But he's like 7th on why this team isn't any good.

Yea , I would say our senior point guard making 9 shots in the last 6 games is a little bit more than our "7th Problem"

We disagree. The team shot less than 35 percent today and again we were a net minus when he was off the floor.

I know. But again, name me one assist that was the direct resultant of a JRob pass? Sort of like when Wilkins drove at Mike Young then dished off to his teammate for an uncontested flush.
