Listened to the podcast this morning and there were a few things that came to my mind about the recruiting strategy right now, regarding locations, but also just other stuff I've noticed:
  1. Obviously because of the additions of Cal, Stanford, and SMU, the staff is starting to lay roots in those areas. There is a lot of talent in TX and CA so that's really good if you can cash in on a few per year that might have been overlooked by schools in those states or who just want to get away (as we know well with WPA guys).
  2. That doesn't answer the question about CO though. I wonder if because Deion Sanders is opting to recruit transfers instead of HS players to CU, Narduzzi sees a vacuum forming there and they are trying to capitalize. I'm not sure how likely this is to pay off but it's certainly an interesting bet to make. I'm also not sure what the talent level of CO is and what types of players the state is known for producing.
  3. Anecdotally, it seems like they are pushing TE hard (I haven't crunched the numbers). They certainly have a gap in the recruiting recently but also based on the types of guys they are going after, it seems like offensively skilled TEs will be important for Bell's offense. They aren't looking for glorified OLs.
  4. I haven't seen Darveau's name attached to too many recruits so far. Bronowski and Lamar have been way more visible. Part of that might be that they took 5 OL in this past class plus a transfer so they don't plan on hitting the position too hard but also it might speak to some of our worries about his ability to recruit, his network, his territory, etc. I'm not alarmed yet but it's stood out to me this month.
PS - Sorry for starting a new thread but my browser wasn't loading new threads for some reason.
