I think Pitt was so dead and buried that people arent even looking at their resume. When you look at it, its as good as a lot of those bubble teams. Not saying we should be in right now. But certainly 1st Four/Next Four out. Like look at Nova who's ahead of Pitt everywhere. Its trash

Odd, Pitt made the most of their appearnce last year, Capel COY, one would think both items factor in this year in terms of getting noticed, with what Pitt has been doing lately! So you are saying all these programs start with a blank slate when rankings are made each year? You think that the coaching staffs and program history has no bearing on each year's rankings? You are implying the people who make these selections have no bias because of past success/failure. One would have to be quite naive to argue that point.

Other than playing a significantly better non-conference schedule and being ranked significantly higher than Pitt in the predictive metrics, sure. And being slightly higher in the resume metrics.

Rankings don’t mean anything. The selection committee should have no bias because of past failure/success. If they did, UNC would’ve made the tournament easily last year.

Correct, the key word is "should", but it always will. Whether appropriate or not is another discussion, but they do have bias, no doubt.
