Many places. but not all
JD is not going to get fired nor should he be fired.
He has made enough money to live well if he never works another day.
But he is personally facing the crossroads of his career.
His record for kids who are now Juniors or youngerin HS is average.
No longer is he a rising star. Nor is he among the best coaches in his conference.
He (and his record) are middle of the pack in a tough, if over populated league.
A new AD isn't going to lite a fire under his butt. And other coaches lose players to the pros all the time.
If JD is going to go down as a "great" college coach, the next 3 years will tell the tale. His legacy at Pitt is secured.
But now he is an after thought on the national scene.
More importantly, he should be concerned about how he will leave the Pitt program.
Will he leave it in Seton Hall status (1 more final four than us) or will he leave it in the condition of a school like Xavier which survives coaching changes and is able to achieve/over achieve?
I have not a clue, but I do know that if it happens it is because JD decides: not because he got a kick in the pants from a new AD.
