-Capel and crew are in to see Wahab again. Igniting the full court recruiting press. Go Capel go
Did I just read somewhere that Walker is leaning Miami now?
YepSeems to be the case. Which is why @steel_curtain curtain's bluster is misplaced. Dixon and Stallings recruited plenty of elite players. You gotta land them though. I hope Capel locks up Walker.

-Whats your point? Dixon had a brand new basketball arena and 15 years to get it going. He also had back to back Big East Titles from Howland. And he still crashed the car at Pitt
-Capel had 100 fans at games last year and 0-19 ACC record.
-At least Capel is trying. Cant say the same for the past 2 Coaches the last 5 years. If we dont get Walker, so what. Doesnt mean anything.
-Capel landed 3 great guards in 2018.
No. the point is that the past 2 coaches did try. And they failed. It's well and good that Capel is going after high ranking targets but it's meaningless if they don't sign here.
I mean, I'm pretty sure I already said Dixon failed in my last post. So your attempt to distract attention away from your bombastic idiocy is misplaced.
Go back and look at the prospects Dixon went after. There were plenty of guys in the top 150 he tried to land. He didn't. Being a finalist is not cause for celebration. Yet you come in here and act like Pitt has a roster full of 5*s signed.
If Capel reverses course and snags Walker and others, I'll happily give him credit. But in the meantime, all your posts here are about as useful as your lightening fast U posts or your claims that a 4-win ACC team would finish third in the conference.
The players I mentioned all had Pitt in their final cut list. Naji was labeled a Pitt lean for a while before Stallings messed with his visit for his sons baseball debut. Had them in his final 5. Hunter visited 3 different times I believe. Simms said Sutton was like a father to him. David had them in his final 3 with Butler and Creighton.-None of those players strongly considered Pitt except Lawrence. All Stallings did was give recruits a free tour at Pitt and wasted all of our recruiting visits. He was a complete waste.
-I hated the hire from day 1. This message board convinced me to give him a chance. He got his chance and I gave him one. And he's now hated by Pitt. Good riddance. Stallings is gone along with his non athletic dogshit backcourt last year with Carr and Stewart. Good friggin riddance.
-At least the players this year are conditioned to actually last 40 minutes. Not last years team with the whole team gasping for air in the 2nd half

No one is saying Stallings was a good coach. You just ignore facts that are being put in front of you.
We don’t have a 2019 commit yet. We’re one of 3 ACC teams at this point. This next month is important. It has nothing to do with Stallings.
You brought up coaches not trying and got called on it. Then say you don’t care about that. We all want Pitt to do well. Let’s just live in reality about what has actually happened.-I honestly dont care what happened 2 years ago or anything that happened with Stallings. But just for reference, I pulled up Naji Marshall's recruiting profile on 247 just now. He cut his list to 7 schools July 25th and committed to Xavier 4 days later. If thats your idea of being in the lead thats on you.
-I dont care that Pitt doesnt have any commits. The 2019 recruiting cycle will go all the way into mid next year. Toney didnt commit until June 2nd. I wont be surprised if Capel gets 2020 players to reclassify to 2019. Seems no one has mentioned that on this board yet.
-The most important thing right now is wins. Pitt needs to get 16+ wins and double Stallings win total. Its a dam shame our own players admitted to quitting last year during the season and let teams blow us out on our own floor without trying. Start winning and the players will come, with or without Walker it doesnt matter.

Jucos, transfers and reclasses are definitely possible for the 2019 class. I think you’re kidding yourself if signing highly ranked players in November isn’t the first option though.
Your updates and positivity are appreciated. Let’s hope Capel hits the ground running.
WOW, that's pretty optimistic. 16 wins? At this point, I'd take 12 or 13 as long as the team is competitive and doesn't lose games by 25+ like they did the last 2 years. You have to take this one day at a time, one step at a time. Capel hasn't proven anything yet, other than he's tireless and passionate. That's a good start. But it needs to translate into wins.
I want this program to get back to routinely winning 25+ games every year, like we did not so long ago. I think that's a good long term goal, achievable in the next 4 to 5 years.
-No where does this say Pitt leads or was a leader. All this says is Pitt stands out with other schools. Woopdy do. A 17 year old can change is mind fast. No where was there a bunch of experts saying Pitt was in the drivers seat.
You can't have it both ways, Steel. This entire 3-page thread you've been braying about how great Capel is doing because Pitt is leading for so-and-so. Now you say it doesn't matter who stands out because a 17-year old can change his mind.
So which is it?

No. Essentially none of the guys you framed "Lightning Fast Speed U" around went to the NFL after the 2016 season. Henderson, Weah, Ffrench, Whitehead, Moss, MacVittie, etc. came back to the team in spring 2017. Obviously Moss was kicked out (but he sucks a level down) and MacVittie left (and sucks 3 levels down) but the others came back and sucked. The only "Lightning Fast Speed U" player who went to the NFL was Conner and I'm not even sure he was included on your dumb "Lightning Fast Speed U" lists. He surely wasn't example of a "Lightning Fast Speed" player, even though he was/is certainly talented.1) Stallings took a team that returned 7 of 8 starters and wrecked it. He put Artis at point guard, complete disaster. Everything Stallings did was a disaster. His coaching, his recruiting, hell even the team conditioning and training.
2) Pitt was fun under Matt Canada. Canada left, the speed went to the NFL, and Pitt football is bad. Blame Narduzzi for not recruiting track stars. The Central Florida track stars murdered Pitt
3) You can give credit Capel on November 6th when its officially day 1. At that point the star system doesnt mean shit, its all about performance on the court. Johnson, Mcgowens, Toney, Ndir, night and day better guards then last years non athletic defensive wastes. You might actually get a chance to see an aggressive defense again.

You anointed Moss and MacVittie with your "Lightning Fast Speed U" crew. You said Canada left and all the "Lightning Fast Speed U" players went to the NFL and that is why Pitt then sucked. None of them left for the NFL after the 2016 season. We sucked in 2017. I didn't say anything about any of their abilities. I am just proving (once again) that what you say is complete and utter BS and you try to change your claims again and again, even within the same thread and from one post to your next.-Those were all good players besides TMAC and Moss. Moss was never fast to begin with, dont even know why you mentioned him. Henderson was an All American on special teams and made the Giants practice st team. Whitehead and Weah are in the NFL. Ffrench is one of our best players. Conner ran a 4.6 and weight 240lbs.
-You live in Oakmont but support Alabama. I wonder why....

I don't live in Oakmont. I don't live in Pennsylvania, at all.
You claim to be a Pitt fan, but say you haven't been to Pittsburgh in a decade. You claim you took a 4 month vacation and that is why you disappeared from the board for 7 months, as soon as your idiotic predictions about the CFP and the SEC being overrated were demolished. I wonder why...
This season is not about wins , it's about competing and developing players . It's about recruiting a few more pieces of the puzzle . Who cares 16 wins 14 wins I want to see building blocks for future .-I honestly dont care what happened 2 years ago or anything that happened with Stallings. Yes, that is where I was born and spent my early years growing up, thus it is my "hometown". I do not live there anymore and haven't for a long, long time. Most people who are college educated don't live in the same place all their life.-Blah. You said your hometown is Oakmont / Pittsburgh. Put down the alcohol.

Following his official visit to Miami over the weekend, some have speculated that they were now the leader for @Pitt_MBB target @AntgotClout. However, Walker tells PSN that is not accurate.
-We'll see if Capel and staff visit him this week. If not Miami probably leads. If Pitt does, we are not out and the original guy from the Rhode Island board pretty much faked everyone out just like the moron that started the Cockburn is going to commit on twitter and faked everyone out.
Of course the same site had Akok going to SU on 9/25 and 3 days later they had him going to UCONN, so who the hell really knowsIt wasn't just "some guy" - there are 5 CB's (at least. I"m not a VIP so I can't see the other 3, but I imagine it's 8) on the 247 site that say it. Guys like Jerry Meyer and Evan Daniels aren't just "some guy." To be honest, Mike V is pretty much just "some guy."
I'm not saying you're wrong here steel, but logic would say Miami is the place
Obviously Moss was kicked out (but he sucks a level down)
If that is the case, then he is doing fine, but even further down than I thought. I thought I saw (via that thread/article posted on the football board) he was averaging 3.5ypc, but I thought he was at D1AA, not D2. D2 is a crazy big drop off.Moss is averaging almost 6.5 ypc. Leads the #2 team in D2 in rushing. On what planet is that sucking?

Only in relation to the "Lightning Fast Speed U" claims. He looked promising at Pitt, but he was never consistent and struggled as a sophomore before being booted. The D2 level he is playing at is really bad. He should be dominating. That is essentially really good HS football.Grand Valley the program at that level. They have put a good number of players into the NFL. They always seem to have a handful playing.
Moss was starting ahead of both Ollison and Hall despite being younger than both. Questioning his talent level is silly to me.
-I DID NOT predict 16 wins. I DID NOT predict anything. I said this is what Pitt needs to do. This is why my posts get taken out of context, you guys dont read
Jamie Dixon is a very good coach. I am not going to argue that. But the bar of 25 wins isn’t fair or accurate. Dixon was 40-27 and 17-19 in the ACC his last 2 years. The ACC is a completely different animal than the Big East. We are also playing more conference games moving forward, so you need to take away a couple cupcake wins.Well in that case, Pitt NEEDS 25 wins to get back to where we were before Dixon left. 16 wins gets us nothing except some Pitt fans saying we improved a little bit. And I have news for you. Pitt isn't going to get to 25 wins in the next few years at least. That's the bar I've set as for what Pitt NEEDS to get to in order to be a quality program again on a consistent basis.
There are too many people on this board who dissect every little word that people post and then attack other posters if they feel their words are not being read or understood completely. Here's another tidbit: IT'S ONLY A MESSAGE BOARD! It means nothing and most of us don't have the time that some others do to read every little meaningless word that is posted. We scan and throw in some post when we have the time. None of us knows more about what's going on than anyone else.

Going 12-0 or 11-1 In the non conference part of your schedule pads your record nicely . Any coach would be hard pressed to win as many conference games as JD did in the BE , but JD teams in the ACC won 11 game once then they were 9-9 & 8-10 so to me anything approaching a .500 record in conference in JCs first three yrs would be remarkable . JDs teams in the ACC averaged 22 win seasons a much better benchmark .Well in that case, Pitt NEEDS 25 wins to get back to where we were before Dixon left. 16 wins gets us nothing except some Pitt fans saying we improved a little bit. Just for the record doubling the conference wins still equals 0. 2x0=0 !-I dont think you understand how difficult it is to recruit when your team is 0-19 in conference play. Doubling Stallings win total in year 1 shows monumental improvement and makes it much easier to recruit a year from today.
