Was listening to last night’s Jeff Capel Show on 93.7, and the guest was longtime booster Mark Duca. In the interview, he mentioned that he and a group of supporters started something called the “Pittsburgh Basketball Club,” which sounded like a combination of a booster/supporter club but also an organization that has some NIL component. He plugged it as something that people can join and support.
I’m not sure if Mark is a panther lair poster and don’t want to ask him to ID himself if he is, but given some of the overarching discussions about roster retention and the financial resources that will be needed, I wanted to bring it to everyone’s attention on here. I wasn’t able to find a website, social media or anything for it.
Given that a handful of us here have been talking for a while about Alliance 412’s understandable focus on football, I think it’s great to have a separate apparatus geared exclusively to basketball. I’d love if someone who has more information about the group might be able to chime in and we can get a discussion going on here.
