Jeffress half time line

Yes
That internet sites ranking him too high isn’t his problem .
His confidence is shot because he was giving too much time .
Now there are a group of assholes who post about hiM every day - Iike the obsesses weirdos they are .
It’s not will’s fault he isn’t ready for the playing time he’s getting

His #1 problem is he was maybe a 400-500 type recruit, not Top 75. So us assholes are disappointed that we actually beat a bunch of good teams for a highly rated player and he was completely overrated.

Jeffress needs to be good at one thing and focus on that. he's bad at everything. is he a wing/perimeter player or is he an undersized/athletic forward? Pick one and focus on it. Watching him shoot a ball from 3 reminds me of a young teenage girl shooting a ball and im not kidding. like they arent strong enough so they use their legs and shoot it from their chest. that's how jeffress shoots and it's awful looking..

quit the notion that he is a threat from the perimeter and learn how to play from 12' and in.. get a skill and work on it.

Yes but even if we dont count last season, we got nothing from a Top 75 kid in 1 out of his 4 seasons. That cant happen for kids ranked that high that you beat Nova and Baylor for.
Sure it can. Top 75 isn't all that highly rated. There can be a lot of hit or miss in that range. And yes, It can also just take time for a kid to develop.

Stop worrying about his recruiting ranking
We are also getting nothing out of 4 stars in toney and McGowan .
He is what he is and he needs to improve and develops .
He either will or won’t
His ranking in hs means nothing once he’s on campus

I agree which is why I said he needs to be an undersized 4. Bulk up some and make hustle plays around the basket like Nasir.

Yeah I was thinking a Nasir or a really poor man’s Rico Greer. Just use your size to play against some less athletic forwards 12’ and in.

He won’t be a threat on perimeter in D1. It just won’t happen.

He looks horrible but this team stinks so there's nowhere to hide while being asked to be an all everything wing guy. He was probably a redshirt even before he reclassified. On some of his old film from team Durant or USA or whatever he mostly seemed like just a complimentary guy with them.

I said in another post he should try to be a poor man's Nasir or Chevy. They tried to make both of those guys 3s and it didn't work. Heck, they didn't play Chevy almost the whole season as a R-FR because he was strictly a 3 and they were trying to develop him for that. Then we got in foul trouble against Georgetown and the rest is history.

Jeffress doesn't have that ability but he does have that "hustle" in him. I think its time to give up playing the 3 and try to be a "pest" at the 4.

He has the frame that can cause mismatches in that middle land between post and 3 point line. I agree

Think they are forcing a round peg in a square hole with him on perimeter.

The problem with playing him at the 4 is he doesn’t seem very tough, either. He’d get manhandled by good 4’s in the league. His best bet is to either sleep in the back gym and put up 2,000 3’s a game or transfer

Correct
He should only play spot minutes - because he’s not good enough for extended minutes
Horton and Sibande's loss is really felt here. Because Pitt would be so much better served with a 3 guard lineup and Hugley and Mo as your two forwards.

But it also flips when people try and compare guys like Wanamaker and Patterson's FR numbers with Jeffress's, which are similar. Except those guys were getting 8-12 minutes and Will is getting 30.

Kinda the point im making .
17 mpg as a frosh were too many
29 is setting him up to fail
He’s simply not ready yet
He may be eventually
Although Lamar always had a nice game and skills
But our fans were mesmerized because jj moore could jump high- but was a worse player

JJ Moore looked fantastic at Green Tree. As did John Johnson.

I'm not buying that Lamar looked bad young. In his true frosh season, I remember him having a good game vs Top 5 Texas and he played all of the 2 OTs vs Duquesne in the last game at the Civic Arena. No, I wouldn't have predicted NBA but I would have predicted solid 4th/5th starter, maybe #3 option on a good team. With Jeffress, I see maybe 8th/9th man later in his career on a good team as his max.
