Carter needed to look to cut it up quicker. Pitt also needs to adjust blocking to accomadate an earlier inside cut.

Yes, the jet sweep presents a few options yet we seem to only ever run one route.

Jet sweep is a great play. We just don't do any wrinkles off of it. Example: See muskegon high school.

It's clear that they are being coached to ALWAYS try to outrun ALL the defenders to the edge. Theses kids are all football players. They all have high school tape of them running 95 yard plays from scrimmage with them juking all 11 defenders twice during the run. If they weren't being told that they HAD to run to the sideline before cutting up field, someone would have had the instincts to cut up early on at least ONE DAMN play this year, right?!? Infuriatingly bad coaching. Defenders know that there is no chance they'll cut up field and simply all run to the sideline. We literally play on 1/3 of the field every offensive play.

Please tell me carter can be used in more ways than jet sweep. The kid is too quick and shifty to run predictable play.

The jet was used and overused due to the lack of a passing game.

In terms of cutting it up...

I don't know how it's being taught.

The fly sweep guru is Mark Speckman. He basically utilized the play as the staple of his offense. He taught 3 different sweeps that were blocked differently. It was based on what type of edge and force player the defense presented.

I thought they should have ran more power read than they did.

U2-3 times a game is ok but every 3-4 offensive plays is idiotic
