With all those great players Pitt ranked near the bottom nationally on just about every offensive stat . Maybe because none of them could shoot .

None of those guys would’ve started as freshman at most ACC schools . Toney was horrible offensively until the middle of his second yr . great defender though and the only player I wished had stayed if ….. , X peaked as a freshman and wasn’t a team player here , Justin was a baller and improved tremendously despite having to play for the worst staff in college bb .

By the way Josh Newkirk started for Indiana too .

Everyone of those teams still has better rosters than Pitt .

Capel is responsible for every facet of the basketball program. If any component is lacking, then it is Capel’s fault. There are NO EXCUSES as to why we are about to be 11-20 in Year 4. NONE! This is his 6th straight losing season and he has 0 recruits. He has failed. Turn out the lights.

And I don’t disagree at all , he is 100% responsible for the performance of his team . He has failed in recruiting the players he needs to compete in the ACC . If there was 1 or 2 yrs left on his contract , Heathers hire or not , he’d be gone .

What makes me laugh is all the arm chair experts who feel they know the X &O’s better than Pitts staff all former HC at the college level . None of us are in practice or team meetings , but some of you know these guys are complete morons . I’m sure the emphasis is on turning the ball over , missing wide open 3’s and leaving the other teams marksmen wide open !
